The formation isn’t working at all. Hourihane off, Grealish back into midfield, Ghazi off & Kodja on. 4-4-2.

The mind genuinely boggles about why Smith isn’t doing the blatantly obvious.
Not many other sides would persevere with a misfiring striker when his understudy banged in a Hattrick a few days ago.

After the Leicester game, my big worry was that Rodgers had left a blueprint for other managers to copy.

Long and Ings doing exactly what Vardy and Iheanacho did to us.

All you have to do to beat Dean Smith's Villa is double up on Grealish and leave a couple of quick players high for the counter attack. Get the set pieces right, sorted.

We're playing with defensive midfielders against a team with a flat 4-4-2 - what's the point of that?

Trez on for Luiz put grealish in the centre.

Only grealish and Wesley look like doing something and to be honest wesley has been our best player to me this game.

I honestly think Luiz has been our best player. Would not take him off.

Guilbert and Engels have been awful. We really miss Mings.

Guilbert has been poor but he’s also being let down by el ghazi not tracking bsck - we are a poor side and questions must be asked about what JT does with the defence - I fear smith as a manager is out of his depth at this level .

This is the danger, players see situation like Wesley starting every game despite being poor and it isn’t much of an incentive for them to bust their guts.

Wesley should have been rotated weeks ago. The damage is done and it’s contagious.

I actually think he has been half decent today but it's a fair point overall.

Playing like a bunch of **** cowards. Ni heart, no courage, just playing hot potato. This is about as bad as it gets for us.

Get Hourihane off, Trez on and put Grealish in the bloody middle!

It wasn't a hat trick and it was against the GCSE work experience team.

Having said that, I would still bring Kodj on.

Look at Jose at Spurs, 30 minutes into his first game he’s taking players off. It’s sends out a very clear message. We’ve got the opposite. John Mcginn is another, hasn’t been himself for weeks but still starts every game.

What absolute nonsense - Wesley is awful and a poor excuse for a CF

He has literally no idea where to go in the box and presents no threat - stands and watches as the ball flies around him

”our best player”....... what absolute nonsense

I’d say he did enough to earn a start over our other out of form striker.
