Good result. Had to miss the last 20 minutes as I couldn't hear anything other than the commentators fapping over the Liverpool players.

Shaky start against kids but comfortable in the end. You could feel the nerves early on such was the potential banana skin. Happy for Wesley and Kodija to get amongst the goals. Also well done Nyland who made some great saves. Finally great to see Chester back.

As for Liverpool. Harvey Elliot is going to be a superstar.

Nyland and Kodjia pushing for a place in the first team. Trezeguet showing he's still a ways behind Anwar and Jota even further behind him. Douglas Luiz excellent again spraying passes from deep. I'd start him over McGinn on the weekend.

About as well as a match like that could have gone really.

Good to see our strikers getting amongst the goals as well.

Furious at the Sky coverage honestly. L’pool were the team disrespecting this competition, our second string beat them without being a cohesive unit. One of their players was good. The rest, awful.

Liverpool kept the ball well and did some nice passing but Villa absolutely clinical  infront of goal. Some cracking saves from Nyland.

Surprised about the comments about Villa being shit or boring. Some people never happy.

That was without doubt, the most bizarre Villa game I've ever watched. Tbf though we did well to coast through 5-0, as it's the sort of game I could see us losing in years gone by.

Sky only on about Liverpool. I'm glad I don't normally have to watch football on Sky. Soz my UK lads.

Let the media w@nkfest begin!

professional performance tonight by some rusty squad members who got valuable playing time.

Fair play to Nyland who pulled off some cracking reaction saves!

thought Luiz and Hourihane did well too.

Nyland - top class saves.

Jota - classy player, can he hack the pace of the prem? I really hope so as I love watching him play.

Jimmy Danger - is he back!? He's always a threat.

Wesley - chuffed for him with that goal.

Elliott looks a proper wonderkid.

Nice to see Wesley finish from a good run in behind. Kodjia with two or was it three goals? Liverpool’s kids are basically Barcelona in disguise so we did well to scrape a 5-0 win.

I thought Trez actually played well apart from his finishing. And tbf none of them were golden chances.
