Seasons starts here.

We play the only three teams below us in a row. How nice would three wins in a row be?

Southampton are not a good side, I think Norwich and Watford are both better. One point would be disappointing, none unthinkable.

If Hourihane isn't fit, I'd move McGinn to the left hand side so he can combine with Grealish a bit, I think they're missing each other.

Kodjia, Trezeguet, El Ghazi...one of these men must start the game up front.

Trez only scores tap ins or bouncing off a body part fortuitously. Horrific idea as striker

Ah, didn't know Che Adams hadn't scored for them.

Stick your effing house on that.

No basis for it, but Danny Ings seems like the kind of player who will score against us regularly.

At least he is getting into scoring positions.

That shows good movement. How many shots have Wesley had the past 10 games?

Never going to happen but i'd like us to try something like this:

--------------------Heaton--------------------

---------Engels------------Konsa----------

Guilbert------Nakamba-------Targett

---------McGinn-------Hourihane--------

--------------------Grealish--------------------

----------Kodjia-----------Wesley-----------

I'd like to see something like that too. Would be interesting.

Think he scored home and away against us in 2014/15 for Burnley.

Get the feeling if Southampton go down and we stay up we'll look at him seriously in the summer. Still only 27 and seems to be over the serious injuries he had at Liverpool.

I looked it up after posting, can’t remember exactly when but he’s scored against us twice according to transfermarkt. Once from the spot.

I was saying on here the other day that I think a diamond might suit our players at the minute.

This system is all about having intelligent players. So if Guilbert goes forward McGinn needs to fill in, same for Targett/ Hourihane. If Kodija or Wesley pull wide Grealish/ McGinn/ Hourihane need to be getting in the box. But the most important is Nakamba needs to be disciplined. He needs to be directing those around him and breaking things up.

Southampton are a decent team with one of the most in form strikers in the league up top. We will need to play well and I worry we will need three goals to get all three points.

Probably our first "6 pointer" of the season.

hmm i'd say newcastle was as close to a 6 pointer as you get in November with the games we had after that. that's what fills me with confidence...in the pressure games, we deliver

His goasl at Wolves and at home to Liverpool certainly don't fit into either of those categories...
