Would be gutted to see him move without us putting up a fight for him. Another couple to challenge Guilbert and Targett would be nice. Shame Nathan Ferguson appears to be going to Palace and Rico Henry, who Smith knows well, appears to be over his injury troubles now. Both good young full backs. I wouldn’t be surprised if we already have one or two deals provisionally agreed, but they’re dependent on a chain of deals going through at other clubs. But given we were short on numbers when Wesley, Davis and Kodjia were fit, surely we will want another striker in this window with Wesley injured and Kodjia gone? So while I get your point that succeeding in this pursuit is a different question, I’d have thought the club will be happy to spend a slight premium if necessary to get another striker over the line. With Davis and Kodjia injured for most of the first half of the season we wouldn't have had an actual striker in ten league fixtures. If you are going to lose players to season ending injuries January is the best time for it to occur as we've seen by getting in Reina to cover Heaton.
