Pre match thread

Recommended Posts

I'm nervous about this one already because of its importance, with Man City and Liverpool coming up afterwards but also the difference between two wins from nine and three from nine! Yikes! :s If we manage to make it three from nine that will be a relief and a decent start to the season (and equal our number of wins from the entire 2015/16 season, good grief!). I live very near Brighton so will try my best to get a ticket for our game at the Amex in January, fingers crossed.

Come on you beautiful big yellow cats yeeaaahhhh!!!!!

An assist and a goal for CH and not even on the bench?

I just don’t think he’s anywhere near Prem quality, just my opinion

I think he proved at Norwich he is.

Just one game I know, but I think you're being incredibly harsh to be honest.

Dean Smith, "Conor, you've won us a penalty, got an assist and scored a cracker, but that simply isn't good enough away from home in this division. I expect at least two of each of those per player per game!"

Just kidding SGC, but surely he cant be dropped given its Brighton at home. If we were playing a top top team then maybe.

I think it would also go against putting in performances to prove your worthiness for first team spot.

International break arrived at the worst possible time.

Hope we won't lose any momentum.

Wow, if anything highlights the difference in situations here that fact does!

We are streets away from that team, thank god.

He currently sits 43rd in the list of player rating for the whole league.  So currently, only 42 players have performed better than him and he's not prem quality?

No worries we all have opinions, right now I think he is the right fit for the team, that may change as DL matures, I still really think Henry has some part to play in this season. But for now I think Conor has earnt his start.

Never change a winning team!

Same team that started against Norwich for me.

Let’s see if that’s still the case at the end of the season, I very much doubt it will be

Dontvthink this will be easy. You don't beat spurs 3-0 if your crap

We need to ensure we don't get too ahead if ourselves like we did against bournmouth.

If it's any consolation they might lose their momentum also.

Well...

Norwich beat Man City and we spanked Norwich 5-1

It's too early to say whether CH is, or ever will be Prem quality.

But to drop him from the squad entirely after his performance at Norwich is crazy talk.

Yeah want to get them before they sack OGS

their first game post the next intl break is us...where no doubt they'll be welcoming their new manager and thump us. would be bloody typical.

anyway - can see a scrappy 3pts saturday...2-1 villa

With the harder fixtures coming, i see this as a must win game.  Can't see us getting anything from the 3/4 after brighton, so will need as many points on the board as possible going into them.

With any luck we can pick up some though

I’m feeling pretty positive about this one, how can you not be after our last performance? Yeah I know Villa are always capable of ‘doing a Villa’ but it just feels different now.

I can see Neil Maupay getting the opener, before we click and go on to show our class.

3-1 Villa! and no mention of VAR 🤞
