A step up in standard from Crewe and a great chance for the changed line up to show what they can do against a Prem team. Good chance to progress as well as I'd imagine Brighton will go weak. I would have preferred a championship club for the team that played the other night to face (assuming it’ll mostly be them). KentVillan Posted August 28, 2019 Share Posted August 28, 2019 I think the third round of the league cup is too early in the competition to be putting out a full strength team, when we have a 6-pointer against Burnley 4 days later. Obviously field a stronger lineup than vs. Crewe, but I wouldn't risk players like Mings (too injury prone) and I would definitely limit game time for Wesley, McGinn and Grealish.
