MaVilla
Cameron Archer has joined Solihull Moors on loan until January. The pacy teenage forward has made the short move across the midlands to link up with the Vanarama National League side, whose league season gets underway this weekend. Academy graduate Archer has made three appearances for Villa’s Under-23s so far this season. He made his first-team debut last term in the club’s Carabao Cup triumph at Crewe Alexandra, stepping off the bench as a late substitute. Good luck at the Moors, Cameron! he's 19 in december i think?, for me, it doesnt bode well that a player who is 2 months away from 19 is going to a National League team, i could be wrong though. I’d have thought the exact same. Very low level.

If he makes it look easy then a step up next season to league 1 or higher is not a concern. He's a small player so being small he'll lilely take a lot longer to compete at the top level. Some confidence building first should fit the bill quite nicely.
useless
Just scored to put Solihull 2-0 up, he also provided the assist for their first goal. Edited October 10, 2020 by useless
useless
He's scored another before being subbed off, they're now winning 4-0. King's Lynn who they're playing happen to be managed by Ian Culverhouse.

useless
Didn't realise he was still only eighteen, his loan with Solihull ends in January, so will be interesting to see if a league club asks to loan him for the rest of the season at that point if he can continue doing well.

Not ideal ofc. but only a fraction of players will play at the very top. It's also a thing where smaller, less physically developed youths will find the step from youth to senior football very difficult. And they might need a year or two finding their feet.
John
I don't think that there is too much difference between the top of the National League and the bottom half of League Two. I'm sure Cameron has gone to get regular games at a local club and he's already started well. This loan could work out well for the player and both clubs.

There’s a tendency to write players off when they reach a certain age because another player was playing first team football at that age.
matteyp
Young lad getting game time and staying local in a pandemic, I'm not too worried about league but would hope he gets goals.

It definitely shows character - he's only just turned 19 and it's pretty rough down there, so fair play to him.
