MaVilla
So. Do we start with our first choice 11 to help them gel? Or mix it up and rest some key players for the weekend? Do Davis, konsa, lansbury, nakamba, Hause etc deserve a run out?

Keyblade
First time in years we actually have a complete and decent second string.

It’s a tough one, especially after coming off the back of our first win, you want to keep momentum high. But then you also want to keep the back up players happy. I think our second team in most positions look decent so I’d bring the subs in: Steer Elmo Konsa Hause Targett Marvelous Conor Lansbury El Ghazi Davis Kodjia (If fit) Ramsey on the bench with a couple of other youth and the rest first teamers
New_Hope
Listening to Smith say the lads are back in training today in preparation for Crewe, looks like we will be taking this competition seriously this year. Good route into Europe!

wilko154
No, we should go for it. Too many times in the past we have put a second string out and bottled it in the early rounds. Bring in a few players but keep the first 11 strong. Steer Guilbert Engels Konsa Targett Nakamba Grealish Hourihane Jota Wesley El Ghazi Last season we played 42 games with midweek games. We should easily be able to handle a second game this week three weeks into the season. Leave out Mings as he looked injured during the warm up. Rest McGinn and Trezegeut. Look to bring Grealish and Wesley off when the game is tied up.
MaVilla
Mings needs resting regardless, a bit concerning that he had a pain killing injection before the Everton match.

Because that is eleven decent footballers, rather than a team. Never played together, and we've seen it happen before that a well drilled lower league side can exploit that. FWIW, I think Deano will mix it up - mostly first-teamers, with just two or three changes (at a guess, Targett, Nakamba and Konsa, maybe Steer). Junxs
This cup is there for the taking if a team takes it seriously Guess with big squads these days its an opportunity to use some of the fringe players, but if we get to the last 16 I would love us to try to win it, especially if it looks like we are safe
Jareth
We just came from a league that often plays three games in 7 days, I think we should keep the team together and go for it.
LondonLax
These games are a chance for some of the unplayed players to get some match time. I’d like to see Konsa, Marvellous and Targett at the very least.
HalfTimePost
For me we need to play Targett and Nakamba and start bedding them in. Perfect game to do so. Outside of that it's protecting our players most likely to get injuries or most likely to cost us if they do. So Wesley & Mings shouldn't play. Grealish and Anwar haven't had their best few games, running a lower league team ragged would be good for them for 60 minutes so I'd start them both. Also brings some consistency to the team. I also think Engels and Guilbert could do with more game time together so I'd start both of them too and go with: Steer Guilbert Engels Konsa Targett Nakamba Hourihane. Grealish Kodjia. El Ghazi Davis Edited August 24, 2019 by HalfTimePost
