Doing a Fulham

Last season there were three really bad teams in Cardiff, Fulham, Huddersfield and Burnley only had fifteen points this time last year, but other than that it's going at the bottom of the table similar to how it goes most seasons which causes people to think that it's going to need an unusual number of points to stay up but that's usually not the case, albeit the way we've been going recently we'll be lucky to get to thirty points.

We aren't doing a Fulham.

They had a squad of gelled players that got them up. We didn't. We had old players not good enough for this level and loanees. If we could have signed Abraham and Tuanzebe, kept the other loanees we bought and kept Adomah/Whelan/Jedi etc, then the XI would look like this:

Steer

Guilbert
Mings
Tuanzebe
Taylor

Hourihane
McGinn
Grealish

Adomah
Abraham
Green???

And what depth? Whelan? Jedi? Lansbury?

Then we could add 2-3 players around this. But getting Abraham and Tuanzebe back was impossible. We would be players down whatever we did. We took a risk on some players. I would argue the biggest risk was only signing Wesley, and not Maupay.

Another point. I would argue that somebody with an avatar of a Fulham badge is our colours, is not an unbiased commentator in a thread like this and should be taken with a large dose of salt.

**** behave were not doing a Fulham, we never were

Lock this thread it's been and gone

We didn't go on a massive losing streak, we didn't panic and sack our manager and get a big name in try and save our season that had already sank

Even if we get relegated we haven't done a Fulham, it was always nonsense based on no one actually looking at what Fulham did as a starting point

Fulham finished last season on twenty-six points, we're only one point off that total now and with fourteen games left to play, we're also only three goals from their total of thirty-four goals scored for the season.

Still one point off the total. Don't give up hope though, If we're really lucky we may have a slight chance of getting that one point to equal them from our remaining 10 games

After twenty nine games last season Fulham were on seventeen points ten points off safety, we're on twenty-five points, two points from safety and with a game in hand over everyone else.

We're actually emulating Cardiff a bit now. They lost in similar fashion at home to Chelsea in the final part of last season after taking the lead and Warnock pretty much knew that relegated them. Probably same here. Chelsa scored twice in five minutes in that one aswell.

Pretty sure Cardiff also had a really poor record v top 6/7 aswell compared to other clubs around them.
