Which is absolutely bizzare, he's played three high tempo Premier League games and has not looked unfit in the slightest. It's confusing given he's picked Vertonghen who has been left out by Pottechino because he is apparently not fit enough. I think Martinez is playing silly buggers to be honest. samjp26 Posted August 31, 2019 Share Posted August 31, 2019 I think the "not 100% fit" thing is because he hasn't had a full pre-season and so on, in which case Martinez would be right. I imagine it'll be at least a few more games/weeks until Engels is completely up to speed but, as Martinez also said, he has already looked solid for us which is a good sign for the future.
