Mahmoud 'Trézéguet' Hassan

He's a whole lot of nothing.
He isn't quick, so he can't play as that winger than drives to the byline.
&
He isn't techincal, so he can't play as a cultured winger cutting in onto his stronger foot.

He's likeable as he gives 100% but if we stay up this season (and in fact, if we don't), he will be a squad player.

Sorry mate he is very quick and skillful, what you said just isn't true.

However, his reading of the game, positioning, and final product all need serious work.

There's good potential in the lad.

He's really not.

He really doesn't seem quick to me, or if he is his top speed lasts about 10 strides.

Loads of times he recieves the ball in loads of space behind and to run into and the guy gets lapped within a few metres.

Doesn't help his dribbling is so hit and miss.

He does try hard but you need more from a winger or forward. If he was a RB and good defensively then maybe he’d be good enough but he’s well short of being a PL quality forward. Not a bad option off the bench but he seems to lack genuine technical skill and coordination, he doesn’t seem naturally talented and comes across as a headless chicken. I’m not criticising his personality or anything just his ability.

I can see how some fans hold sentiment for many of our players (even Taylor!!!!) but we need the right quality in our side or we are just going to struggle. We have had a lot of players who have just not been good enough yet they still get affection for “trying” or “putting a shift in“ e.g. Gabby & Hutton, but at this level and to remain competitive you have to have quality and ability too. Endeavour alone is not enough, especially when you are limited, but it’s also a prerequisite (and visible) in top quality players.

Just look how much of a handicap playing Taylor is, for instance. So what if he’s been with us for a while and not kicked up a fuss etc? He just hasn’t contributed enough and been more of a liability than anything. We need more than players who call fill a gap. It’s good to have younger options too.

Trezeguet is nowhere near “that” bad and is a good option to have in the squad, he will only improve (how much is debatable) and is still quite young but he shouldn’t be a regular starter by any means. We need a lot better.

Given what we have he should be a regular starter. Given our ambition he shouldn't be a regular  starter.

He is quick, not greased lightning, but definitely has a turn of pace. Second best dribbler in the squad. His end product is what is lacking, poor shots in good positions, poor crosses, over running the ball. Ironically all problems Salah had when he was young.

With what we have, he is definitely worth persevering with.

Yeah if he just works on his crosses a bit more, lifts his head up when he's running.  although a few times when he breaks, he actually has nobody to cross it into, Wesley wasn't the greatest at busting a gut to get on the end of crosses (probably cos he came so deep).
