I voted against changing. Not because I'm necessarily in favour of PPC but I feel if we got rid, the QB points would then massively outweigh every other position and would basically decide the matchups. Don't think you can change 1 without the other, and if you did change both it would then leave DEF points being the outlier.

So basically I feel it needs big reform or leave it alone.

Any thoughts?

I actually agree to be fair .

If anything we should be pumping up the receivers points.

Final vote is down to me then... if I vote in favour of keeping PPC then its a 6-6 tie.

What other reform options are there? As @rhyscartwright_avfc says it would leave the games being decided by QB's and DEF

7-7 actually...well it should be, still some no-votes

Tubby and Beastmix to vote, Brumerican has gone for change. **** Remoaner ;)

I'm not fussed either way . I'd rather have WR's get 2 points per catch and TE's 3 points.

Erm...So did 6 other people ?

And we would be leavers surely ?

I'd love to have seen the post before you edited .😀

FWIW we have 5 votes to stay the same  and 6 votes to change it . Inexplicably , @Xela has chosen to talk about voting but can't seem to cross that final hurdle of actually doing it.

I'm with Rhys here, would be good to look at all of it and try to get closer games from a more even scoring system.

No single position should dominate i.e. no 100 point QBs or 50 points RBs.

Any ideas from other leagues of what helps this work?

Like this idea.

Do we just want to nerf RB's or bump the stats of all the other positions?  I liked the points per rush on RB's because it added more value to backs on the waiver wire later in the season when you need to find something off the scrap heap to remain competitive if your stud RB goes down injured.  Happy to apply this same standard to WR's, TE's etc whilst perhaps nerfing the bonuses and scoring on QB's a tad?

I like this scoring system.

RB's no longer handed points per carry but for net yardage.  WR's have to contribute on yards too.

The only changes I would make would be:

  1. to scrap the WR's points per reception and put them at 1 point per 20 yards plus a bonus at 100, 200, 300 etc.
  2. Align QB TD's to 6 points the same as every other position
  3. RB's to get a bonus per 100, 200, 300 etc.

Defensive scoring looks spot on imo

Whilst your point is valid on late season gems, the issue for me with that system is that we are a 14 team league and the studs are no greater than 10-20.  If you have two you can win a game by RBs alone at times.

Points for yardage would be a better reflection of contribution imo although I appreciate 1 run for 90 yards would be the same as 20 runs for 90 yards.

Sure we can come to some compromise that evens it out but I wouldn't welcome making it so we all have 500 point games by adjusting the WRs and TEs up

Let's make it a pure stats game for those with a real NFL interest and ignore those who just do it for fun without understanding it properly like @rjw63 n little old me

What's there not to understand? Instead of getting a point per carry you now (potentially) no longer get a point?
