I was expecting pukka, what arrived was some fancy pie that was all crust and very little taste. Don’t know how much it was but I think it was about £12 (with chips). I will get my own halftime snacks next time. 1

That's an extra quid as well please
rjw63 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 I've always found it odd that people can't go without food/ciggies/beer for two hours whilst at the match. Apart from the very occasional beer, and a programme, I never bought anything inside Villa Park for decades. Am I in a skinflint minority, or are there others? They wouldn't make a penny if everyone was like I used to be 1

However, the food and especially the drink is just part of the fun and day out.

They wouldn't make a penny if everyone was like I used to be I'm the same, although very occasionally I go for some half time confectionary and then quickly realise the error of my ways, this time it was against Man United as a friend had got a ticket, and we fancied a half time pint, so we went to the new "mini bar" at P1 upper Doug Ellis, and for well over £6 were served a rather warm pint of Angelo Poretti - I quickly remembered why I don't bother. Lesson learnt. 1
MarkLillis Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I’ve never been more pleased to see new toilets anywhere….. Everytime over the past decade when I’ve walked into the Holte toilets I’ve been reminded (no matter what they tell us) that in its list of priorities the club places us near the bottom. But now we have lovely shiny new bogs. They do love us!

sidcow Posted October 31, 2024 VT Supporter Posted October 31, 2024 (edited) Went to the loo a few minutes from the end of the match last night. Someone had vomited a few feet away from the vomitory entrance, right in the middle of the walkway. Someone had already taken the time to put a yellow triangle next to it. There were lots of staff standing around chatting. It was still the same when I came back out of the toilet and went back to a seat by the exit. I did wonder how long it takes to get a mop and thinking if they didn't sort it in a couple of minutes hundreds of people were going to be trampling it everywhere and probably slipping over it. When leaving at the whistle I was straight out and the triangle was still there and the puke had been covered by a liquids spill powder. I obviously avoided it but the hundreds behind me would be trampling that everywhere. I just can't fathom how in a 5 minute (minimum) period it wasn't possible to get a mop bucket there to remove it all together. At best it was just something horrible for people to walk through and get all over their shoes, at worst a slip hazard. Edited October 31, 2024 by sidcow

But this is a stadium with 40,000 people, thousands of whom will have been drinking and many of those heavily. Someone puking up in a corridor (which will get EXTREMELY) busy is not only foreseeable, it is I imagine an inevitability. It really SHOULD be someone's job. It should be managed and planned for. In a pub that shit in the middle of the floor gets cleaned up pretty quickly, not just left there for the punters to wade through. It to me just showed again something is not right with stadium management. Edited October 31, 2024 by sidcow 1

I think you should send that exact email to the fan complaints email that someone posted earlier in the thread. They need to be aware so that if they want to sort it out then they can.

Plus I never go downstairs at half time as it is heaving. Edited November 1, 2024 by The Fun Factory
