Who do you think was better Pagliuca or Peruzzi?

That's tough, Peruzzi was a great keeper with great reflexes, I think I'd just give it Pagliuca though, he was so consistent for so long and I'd never seen a goalkeeper look to make an impact on a game as much as he did, from sweeper keeping to quick distribution, he just always seemed to be involved.

I'd take Pagliuca over any keeper I've seen from 1990 onwards . Even a peak Schmeichel.  He was brilliant with the ball long before all this sweeper keeper stuff became fashionable and didn't really have any flaws. His career coincided with Channel 4 airing Serie A with Sampdoria and Inter being shown regularly, so we got to see a lot of him growing up. He was effing brilliant.

2 cracking keepers both world class. Italy had some top keepers that period in a specialist position. If you had 2 world class left backs you could fit both in for example

Watching that video I just noticed how incredible his footwork was, sets him self in the right place at the perfect moment and then crazy spring and agility to make some just... mental saves.

He really was the best in the world at his peak.

Crucially he was playing when tge back pass rule came in so he would have needed to adapt quickly

Same with Van Der Sar who i feel is veru underrated

I saw a brief moment of that comic relief match the other night, where Hanks seemed to be refereeing the game - they'd just finished interviewing him before KO - anybody know if Villa were mentioned?

Yeah, Dermot said "You're a Villa fan aren't you?" and Hanx replied with something like "Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing us win the FA Cup this year.... Don't laugh!!"

That was about all though if I remember correctly.

Tom Hanks! UTV

Corden the silly tw@t calling us obscure, especially when he supports West Ham ffs! Obscure would be for a team like Luton or Peterborough, not the founder members of the PL who until three seasons ago were a PL ever-present. A few years of being poor doesn’t make us a small club Corden you idiot!

Hanks support is very much welcome though.

He meant for an American. Speaking as an American who chose to support Villa when at least 80% of PL fans here choose a top six club, he's not wrong.

One thing I like about Hanks supporting us is that we all know he isnt a hardcore fan but he never ever hides he is a Villa fan and is proud of it.

Be great if club got him to VP sometime
