Cut out the mistakes and we will be ok, the mistakes (2v Spurs, 2 today) have cost us a potential 4 points.

Problem is lack of goals.

Puts pressure elsewhere and will lead to more errors.

Think we are in trouble.

Goals will come if we stop overplaying and giving away stupid goals. We are causing the pressure.

I'm not sure.

Decision making and quality in the final 3rd looks way off.

Wes looks awful and can't see where enough goals will come from.

Maybe. But we are two games in, and we haven't looked poor, we've caused our own issues - cut that out and we can get wins, I think.

I think McGinn will get 10 +, was very close to scoring at least once today.

Going to have to be a season of midfield chipping in to keep us competitive while we wait for something to happen upfront. I suspect someone will be be signed in January to hopefully solve this.

I think the first two matches have shown we really needed to get a striker and winger in on deadline day.  I'd take Llorente or Balotelli right now tbh.

We were linked with Harry Wilson weren't we?

I had my doubts at the time we were linked but considering he can play wide, upfront and had good season for Derby last year it seems a bit odd we didn't challenge Bournemouth when Liverpool made him available for season long loan. Seems pretty obvious player considering that's the big gap in the squad now.

I'm just begging there will be 3 worse teams than us.

Newcastle will be one (until they sack Steve Bruce anyway).

Will watch Sheffield United-Palace tomorrow and see what Palace look like. I think they could be really sucked into relegation this season.

I still think we'll be o.k but need points on the board.

I'd honestly try changing things up completely in the next game.

                     Heaton

Freddie - Engels - Mings - Targett

                        Luiz

            Mcginn  -  Hourihane

                   Grealish

               Trez         Wesley

Get width from the full backs and Trez can make runs in behind for Wesley to find.

Regardless of whether Wesley comes good or not we're going to have to get another forward, need more strength in-depth. I also think we need another winger, El Ghazi is not good enough to start at this stage.

I'd be tempted to bring in a free agent tbh.

Couldn't agree more.

Wesley is a player that likes to drop deep so would benefit from having more support, our wingers look off the pace, and Targget and Guilbert are both good going forward.

As it stands, i think something similar to what you have posted probably suits what we have better than a front 3.

                      Heaton

Guilbert - Engels - Mings - Targett

      Nakamba -  Mcginn -  Luiz

         Grealish  -    Trezegeut

We Need to try play more like Spurs really in my eyes.Could swap Connor for Nakamba also.

The Grealish - McGinn dynamic has confused me for sometime now.

Both seem to be taking up positions that imo suit the others skillset.

Mcginns strengths are running at people and his stamina to get around the pitch, and yet for the last few months of last season and the start of this, he seems to almost be playing as a number 10 rather than a box to box midfielder. So rather than picking the ball up in space and being able to burst forward, the opposition on are top of him as soon as he collects the ball.

Grealish however seems to be constantly dropping deep, and not one to want to play the simple pass he is getting caught in possession is dangerous areas of the pitch when he really needs to be up the other end causing problems for the opposition.

McGinn needs to play further back, and Grealish further forward imo.

That is probably our best team imo. It provides good defensive cover with good attacking options supporting Wesley upfront.
