It's hard to compare England with Germany. It's true it's a little better in Germany.

Today Germany got 500-700 new infected people. Is this perfect or good? No, not at all. England have slightly below 4000. Is it necessary to get this number down to 1000 before a restart? Who knows. Italy went from a stable 3000-4000 to 1000 in a month. So it shows a lot can happen in a short space of time which is why there is no reason for any rash actions, yet.

But the most important thing to remember is the government has given us the green light to restart. A lot has to happens and something unpredictable for them to change their stance.

That’s not correct, the government has said if things go well over the next 3 weeks that maybe we can then 1st June but that is flexible based what happens over the coming weeks.  Plus the government is only a stage gate....clubs, officials, ref assoc, players and many others still have to have their say and that’s before Discussing the detail and that’s where they’ll hit major bumps like venues, rules and timing.

1st June will quickly become 1st July because we are too soon in relaxing lockdown measures and effectively forcing people back to work and using Public Transport.

Assuming Purslow is an experienced negotiator etc. I cant believe he hasn't already prepared  a legal case in case of ppg relegation.

I think this is why the pl are so desperate to complete the season, it's the only way they wont get sued, either by the bottom 3 or top 3 in the championship.

They are desperate to complete the season.....and its clear they have no consideration for the 6 clubs at the bottom.....they cannot be allowed to railroad proposals through just to satisfy their own needs.

McGovern is asking the right questions* but to the wrong people, she should have taken it away from the PL and asked the government several hard questions that they cant answer with regards to the knock on impact of football returning, policing if crowds turn up outside, pubs reopening, the broadcasting laws, all things that the government actually control, as it is she's presented 20 questions that the government are middle men for the majority of

* but there are several more than that

With the Tories it's always, 'But they're doing a tough job'. And now one pundit is calling them out who wouldn't usually and it's all down to Piers Morgan. If you're a Tory supporter, I think you might want to compare the media treatment of your party and compare it with the others. I imagine the conclusion is 90% of the press is a Tory mouthpiece and they don't get held to account nearly enough. Can you imagine if the Labour party had one of the worst responses to this virus in Europe/the entire world?

It's not about 'pleasing everyone'—it's about not killing off your people. Johnson and his government have been shown up as the bunch of lying chancers that they had already shown themselves to be over and over again and none of this is a surprise. They don't care about the normal people of the UK and they never have. The world think we're as much a joke as the US.

As you can imagine, I totally refute those claims.

This pandemic like world war 2 requires support and togetherness to defeat it. Its not a us and them, questioning is fine, its the manner of it.....and party politics should not be involved.

If a lot of fans are showing up outside the stadiums punish the club by awarding the win to the opposition.

I'm sure they'll get the message then and stay home next time.

Tell that to the fans who run on the pitch and risk the club getting punished.

unfortunately common sense was not distributed equally amongst us and that has to be factored in.

Do you really think fans would arrive in the thousands knowing there is a pandemic and a great risk of infection?

Are fans really that dumb?

Seems to me that the PL are just going through the motions.Saying all the ‘right’ things but in the end it will just end up being cancelled.Cant see how on earth the Championship can continue if its this much hassle with the PL

Oh that’s your argument, we’ll that’s flawed already.  L1 and L2 are being cancelled.  You think top flight teams are going to be bankrupt if football this season isn’t finished?

Now you are making up unrealistic rules and not making logical arguments. We all want football back, we all want our normal lives back but your arguments are badly flawed or trolling.  It seems to be football back at any cost for you!

You made the argument Nick that transfers fees would go up rather than down yet no football for the foreseeable future. Without revenue no club is going to be spending big on players despite what OGS says

Rarely these days, does anything surprise me.

I have seen folk having street parties and garden gatherings, despite being told not to....so no, while the majority of us comply.....there is a section of society, who don't give a shite.

If they are warned not too I think majority wouldn’t. You might get a few hundred but certainly not thousands

But there isn't any evidence to suggest this Virus will get any better anytime soon. In fact the virus may turn more aggressive and become more deadly, no one knows.

The Spanish flu actually turned more deadly during the second wave.

So would you recommend to void the whole of next season too?

As things stand, yes.

The only thing that is going to stop Liverpool fans celebrating the title out in the streets en massé is the threat of the losing the title if they do so.

And no one is going to strip them of the title for celebrating it. No one will have the balls.
