We just heard, the Whitehouse whose over cautious but the VP press secretary before a flight tested positive so what happens before a game if a player tests positive, wasnt Dybala positive for 4 to 6 weeks. So just before Villa Play Liverpool that Grealish about 30 minutes beforehand that Jack tests positive, then what happens?  Villa players quarantine or Villa and Liverpool quarantine?

Yes, Dybala tested positive 4 times in 6 weeks, before getting a double negative. There will be an awful lot of tests done on footballers in the run up to games, that could have otherwise been done on hospital staff, care workers or essential workers. I don't care that they are being privately sourced at a cost of £4m, it's morally wrong to use that resource for the purpose of the PL getting their precious television revenue.

Tbh, lets just do everything we can to void the season.

You want to be relegated mate? Because that's what is likely to happen. They'll do points average per game.

Finishing the season is our best chance surviving in the league.

I said a while back that the very real likelihood is that if there’s no more football this season then we will likely be relegated by calculation. It’s neither right nor fair, but it appears the precedent is being set by other leagues doing it.

One problem with this thinking is that it's very possible football won't be played in two years or even more then.

I think we must start to adapt to the virus being here for a long time with no definite solution for it.

Would you then rather not play at all, or play behind closed doors on neutral fields for example?

I'd rather we played, in the best way possible. It won't be like before the virus in a long time. 2020-2021 season is gone from this perspective. 2021-2022 likely won't be normal. 2022-2023 will likely be ok, all other things equal.

Tv companies have insurance

Football clubs have insurance.

Either finish the competitions off in the same way the competitions started, or void it. Voiding it means no promotion no relegation.

Then next year a handicap system in place across all the leagues.

Season being called off is probably Leeds' best chance of getting promoted, seven point lead in the championship can soon disappear. Don't think Liverpool have anything to worry about either as there's no chance of the season being null and voided, don't think the premier league are brave enough to make such a decision, especially when no other league as done so...

Talk seems to be growing that the league is going to be settled by PPG, seems likely now, and probably why Purslow was talking about restarting the season but at the same time hinting at wanting relegation voided because of the neutral grounds scenario, i.e because he knows if the season is cancelled then we would be relegated. Not sure we'd stand much chance with a legal challenge, I just can't imagine a scenario where they relegate us and we succesfully overturn that decision, not based on any knowledge just a feeling. Main hope now is that there was some truth to that leaked audio of the Bristol Rovers captain saying that they're going to promote teams from every division without relegation.

Really the season should have been null and voided, don't think the premier league are brave enough to make such a decision, especially when no other league as done so...

Eredivisie is null and voided.

There will be no PPG for relegation. At best, it will be for deciding European football. The Premier League are under no obligation to accept promotion from the Championship. That will be the most consistent position, in line with other European leagues.

Just listening to Paul Barber. Just had one of his players test positive, but is still desperate for the season to start. You could see the pound signs in his eyes, all about the money.

Eredivisie isn't null and voided, the table as it stands now is their final table, they've just cancelled relegation and the awarding of the title, rest of the season still stands in terms of European qualification, the results still stand, and players still keep the goals that they scored. Easy for the Dutch league to void the title race as Ajax and AZ Alkmaar were on the same points, wouldn't be as easy for the premier league to do the same to Liverpool when they're 25 points ahead of Man City.

Also every other league as done one thing the other, that is either cancelled both relegation and the title race, or relegated those in the bottom three and awarded the title the team top of the table, no leagues as of yet having crowned a team champions but at the same time cancelled relegation... Hopefully premier league become the first to do so, because I don't think there's any chance whatsoever that they don't give Liverpool the title.

Yep. I don't know why some people seem so certain that voiding the season will mean relegation based on PPG. Legally I suspect it would be much easier for the PL to simply have no relegation this season.

Really I thought there was something binding with the football league regards promotion/relegation?

If they wanted to end the season with current league placings the final league placings then fair enough. Let Villa play Sheff Utd BCD at Villa Park and the final positions stand after that.

Their Champions League place v our Premier League status. If we can't win that final then it's a fair shout we go down.
