Chindie Posted March 9, 2019 Author VT Supporter Share Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) And another... Pretty happy with this. I think there might be things I could do to it still, but I'm not sure what. Weathering is more subtle, and even struggles I had with it (my shit airbrush decided to play up throughout) don't really show. I'm pretty happy with the colour separation (a bunch of masking required) and there's some subtle colour modulation I was trying to get better at which came out fairly well (probably best seen on the leg). Happy to have any constructive criticism on these, they're all learning pieces really and sometimes you become blind to what your missing by looking at it so long. I'm part way through doing up the house, but with personal circumstances ATM it's kinda stuck in limbo. Chindie Posted April 9, 2019 Author VT Supporter Share Posted April 9, 2019 MG Banshee ver. Ka This isn't quite finished but I needed to walk away from it as the process from the decals on was a complete slog. This is a ver. Ka kit, usually thought of as the best Gundam kits, and almost always come with a ridiculous number of decals. Which this did. I didn't even use all of them and still didn't the better part of week putting them all on, not helped by the fact each was a fight to get in place. I had more difficulties with this than I have had any decals on a kit. Originally I didn't expect to do much weathering but my hand was forced as the paint had some **** ups that I needed to cover up. So it's become a bit of a learning piece again. My first use of pastels (not that you can tell), first weathering of decals, first mud spatter.. It's ok. It's an imposing kit, big for a Master Grade, a lot of parts, a transformation (all of the clear orange pieces have armour close over them, the V fin 'horns' fold into a single horn, a gold mask flips out from inside the head and covers the face, the cheek armour flips, the legs shrink down, while armour rotates down and feet collapse back to lose the high heel), unique look... I'm reasonably happy with it. As said there a few things that need doing still, but I just need to leave it for a while I think.

I used to enjoy pub quizzes and hugs but the social media groups I had for that have long since buggered off with family and life in general. re-reading this post back, I am trying to work out what this was autocorrect from also I meant social groups, not social media. **** phones. Was a nightmare to paint, I'm not especially happy with the paint chipping or the wash, but I think overall it looks decent. Does this one getting a right good bumming make him a baddie or a goodie? Chindie Posted September 8, 2019 Author VT Supporter Share Posted September 8, 2019 Latest project 90% done maybe. Kinda lost the... mojo, I guess, with it. Not sure where else to go with it. My first colour change, quite like it overall. As always, happy to have some constructive criticism.
Amsterdam_Neil_D
In NL they still have the thing where you put big rubbish outside and they take it all away 1 x per month(Wardrobes /Matrass etc) I found a battered old Toy box / Seat a month ago so I took it home. It took ages to get all the coats of paint off. Like day's and day's. The box was finished in my head by the time I got home so I just need to make it so. As I have finished study for a while I thought I would get my paint out. Progress so far. Edited September 18, 2019 by Amsterdam_Neil_D

Amsterdam_Neil_D
Progress 90 % completed: Just a few things to tidy up / finish. (Bullet holes are not really started, just the outline(holes so far) The big black and white Batman was by pure chance. I am so pleased with it. Just finished that 10 mins ago. As Toy boxes go it will be well good i think. Battery powered LEDs also on the way with Remote control and stuff so is lit inside and underneath + a little lit runway at the back. (256 colours will be good for a kid I think) (Note: I haven't seen any of the films ) Edited November 6, 2019 by Amsterdam_Neil_D Pictures disappeared so fixed it.
Chindie Posted February 23, 2020 Author VT Supporter Share Posted February 23, 2020 I've been messing about with Blender. Basically messing about with the aim of maybe one day, getting good enough to 3d print some stuff. As is, not finished, probably will never be, but it looks... alright for a first pass I guess.
bielesibub
Love this thread, discovered it from the activity thing-y-me-jig and thanks @Chindie. Thanks to my health, I'm now a retired computer geek so my hobby is messing about with web services, Machine Learning and games. I generated this picture of Villa Park using a bit of free software, just in case anyone is interested.
rjw63
Ebaying for vinyl is my main gig. The thrill of the chase is great, especially when you bag something in the last 5 seconds. Although I really have cut down these days as the collection is nearing 1000 and I sometimes feel a bit guilty if I spend big. I get just as much of a kick getting a cracking bargain for one or two pounds though.
