Really don't want Hourihane DM. We will be horribly exposed and I like him in general Also Mings is left side for pedantries sake Edited July 16, 2019 by Kiwivillan
thabucks
Four more I reckon needed as a minimum excluding Trezeguet , Engels & Douglas. We still need a GK, DM and I’d go for Bayliss & Leao then squad is complete IMO given us options in every department.

Looking at both those teams, there's an argument we are stronger in a few positions now but then you get to Wesley and we just have no idea how that's going to work out, but then I suppose many people were saying Tammy wasn't good enough for the Premier League. It will be very interesting to see if we get another forward in, I like the business we've been doing but if we are putting most of our goal-scoring eggs in a Wesley shaped basket that does seem quite the risk...
Wezbid
Tifo have done another episode on Villa, along with the other promoted sides. Loving their sensible transfers episodes. I'm saving it to listen to in work this evening.

If managers played him consistently and more through the middle they'd have a 20+ goal a season striker. He rarely gets 90 and is shoved out wide because he's fast despite arguably being the best finisher they have in front of goal. I agree with you that you can't call it value for money until the player's played and shown what he can do. I agree it looks expensive but there's also huge potential too. I think he flopped considering the money that was spent but then to be fair Man U have been a mess for a while now so that wouldn’t have helped. In terms of Villa signing 35m plus players I reckon that will be next year if we can have a good season.
KH**
Frank Lampard has said that Ethan Ampadu will he sent out on loan this season. Possible for us? 1

Look for the daily schedule and next to the programme click on the "listen again" option. The shows are then broken down into half hourly segments. Enjoy!

Not sure that is us anymore with all the players we are bringing in.

villalad21
As much as i love Hourihane, we need a proper dm. Hourihane is no dm, he got away with it in Championship because the level is pretty poor, but he'lll get eaten alive in Premier League.

He just doesn't know where to position himself. I get it. He has the attacking instinct. I've tried to play in the past at pub level and I just don't have the discipline not to get forward. Its almost schizophrenic if you've always used to push forward and Hourihane is a good final 3rd attacker

I read earlier that Douglas Luiz is a done deal. Take out Hourihane and replace him with DL and we are definitely looking a much better outfit. The guarantee of Tammy's haul being replicated is an unknown but I wouldn't advise betting against that team creating some chances too.
thunderball
Nakamba deal seems way off or dead. Trezguet deal seems dead in the water too, player back training, seemingly the owner suddenly wanted 15m for him after previously suggesting 10m. Shame about the latter as I thought he was a very interesting option as an impact sub/ball carrier/dribbler. Rumours around Philips persist, still hasn't signed his contract. Hope we are in for Leao.
Popular Post Sam-AVFC
Is it just me that gets irrationally irritated by everyone putting our left-footed centre backs in the RCB slot when they post line -ups? 6
useless
I think we'll end up with one of Benrahma, Wilson, Bowen, or someone else for the right wing position. We might even just go with Jota, and Green, it's also worth remembering that El Ghazi can also play on the right, in fact in his career he's played almost an hundred more times on the right than he has on the left.

Laziness on my part - Mings played on the right hand side of the two in the playoff final and I just copy-and-pasted for our next line up.

I agree with their assessment, we don’t yet have enough goals in the side to be confident of staying up yet. A second forward is critical to our chances this season.
