I actually rate Westwood quite highly, so I think he could be decent under Smith's system. I'm just glad that we didn't sign Fer on big wages. I would have liked fer but agree with you on Westwood. He's tidy in possession and will help us keep ticking over whilst we have the ball which is something we are missing.
dudevillaisnice
He may be a Smith type of player but he isn’t what we need in midfield in my opinion. Anyway he is here now so he will get my support. My criticism was aimed at the board as opposed to the player. Popular Post Made In Aston
He will help us set the tempo and keep the ball better. We don't really have a decent passer at the club, so will be a welcome addition. Dodged a bullet with Fer. We need to move away from bang average, aging players looking for their last big pay cheque. penguin
Hugely disappointing when everyone was expecting Fer and it’s clear we need a physical presence in midfield. That said he’s a decent squad option seeing as Lansbury is eternally injured.
Lerner's Driver
Oh and no one will be surprised to learn he's injured at the moment!
MaVilla
I read that we were after both Carroll and Fer, but Fer fell through and we still got Carroll. Not sure if true.
Popular Post Indigo
Fits Smith's style to a tee and never looked out of place in the Premier League whenever I saw him. Bit confused to see people complaining about getting him instead of Fer when we need a specialist deep-lying playmaker and Carroll is one while Fer isn't. It'll be like having a Hourihane that actually looks for the ball off the back four to start moves, and will allow Hourihane to move further forward where he probably belongs. Still a bit lightweight defensively but between Ryan Woods and McEachran, Smith didn't tend to use players in the position that didn't fit that description so it's a move that actually makes complete sense. I despair at our full back options but otherwise this hasn't been a bad window overall. 8

That's my suspicion and we have Mings a player that's played so infrequently Bournemouth fans probably have forgotten he's still a Bournemouth player. I can't take this transfer window seriously. Absolute joke
Popular Post Villaninoz
Haven't been on this site for some time, and after reading this topic i can remember why now... some absolute clowns on here. Most know nothing about the player and are still either whinging or slagging him off. A few people need to give thier heads a wobble... stewiek2
No nothing about him but reading between the lines we asked about him and Fer but Fer's medical looked rather suspect. Give the lad a chance. May surprise us.

From a very limited range of Youtube clips he looks more one-footed than Hourihane, if that's possible. But at least he seems a bit more interested in moving off the ball. No images up with him holding the shirt etc. Blatant panic signing. You don’t go from Hayden to Fer to Carroll. Completely different profile of players. Pretty poor from the club to be honest. Well it would appear Rodoja, was actually the top target. (Could not get work permit)
