He also got dragged out of position, especially for first goal now do the other 4 defenders... i think with both goals you can look at what mings does and its not great but at the same time its reacting to errors in front of him that have already been made, from memory the first goal he tracks the moura run in front of him because ramsey and luiz dont, the biggest problem with it for me was that he was too deep but thats the problem with the 5 at the back, the 2nd goal was his usual charging over to make the heroic block that when he doesnt get there makes it look a bit sloppy 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He also got dragged out of position, especially for first goal Only one Villa player (Targett) won more duels than him, bit of a misleading way to present it in the context of the whole team's performance. Similarly the passing accuracy is either similar to or better than the majority of the team outside of a few notable exceptions. Certainly not his best day but in a game where essentially the whole team didn't perform he just didn't stand out as being especially poor, which is probably evidenced by how inactive this thread was after the game. Suggesting one of if not the most criticised player in the squad is exempt from it is wide of the mark for me.
