£20m for a "Championship" CB with three years of injury plagued seasons behind him. He isn't worth that as much as I would love to sign him.

Yeah I kind of agree, but

1) we get continuity and know his level and persona

2) he's English

3) the prices are inflated for players and English players especially

4) £5 million extra to get first choice CB sorted before pre-season.

I agree it's too much, but relatively speaking you know. At least we're getting players in

I've given up trying to justify fees these days. They're all crazy.

Mings was absolutely incredible for us, if it takes £20m to bring him in so be it. I'm delighted.

i find it difficult to accept as well but in a world where harry maguire is costing £90m and burnley are asking £40m for james tarkowski, it doesn't seem that bad

This.

This is a world where after 14 appearances in 4 years Liverpool managed to make a profit and get £18m for Danny Ings. His loan at Southampton did not go as well as Tyrones with us.

It's a lot of money. But it's not any of ours. If he can keep the injuries away then he'll be worth that and more to us.

If he replicates last season's form in the Prem he'll be in the England squad and worth £50m+
