The way Smith talked about loans and the due diligence we did to get him, I’d think we have a deal in place but just can’t announce it.

But if we have a deal why wouldn't we be able to announce it?

Robbie09
I don’t think the transfer fee or wages will be an issue, after all we were prepared to better the offer made to Mepham by Bournemouth. The issue will be that Mings will have premier league offers if he continues to impress whilst with us.
New_Hope
Surely if we match another club's bid that has been accepted then it will be down to Mings himself who he talks to.
NIVillan
Mings appears to be integrating himself to the club more than the other Loan signings. For example out coaching the Kids the other day. Maybe there is a deal in place and he thinks he is coming here permanently. If you were looking to go elsewhere in the summer why waste energy. Vive_La_Villa
I reckon it means we have first refusal at a pre determined price but if another club were too offer more for him than we would need to match that offer. So if no other club is in for him we will sign him. Complete speculation but I think he will be our player next season.

Exactly what i've been suggesting. Either that or he is just an incredible guy!
Villa_Vids
If he signs permanently in the summer, he needs to be made captain. Mings behaviours like a leader on & off the pitch. Chester is a great professional but he isn't a strong enough captain for a club like this.

mikeyp102
Just listened to his new interview on the OS, comes across really well. Think he had a sly little dig at some players by saying about working hard whether permanent or on loan.
sharkyvilla
He seems like someone who is pissed off to have missed so much football over the years and is looking to make up for it. I'd love him to stay but surely Premier League teams will be watching him very closely. He seems to have everything.
Hornso
I would love it, LOVE IT, if he was here next season.

From what I was reading this morning is that it's not what we were all thinking it was where one club bids and we can match the offer. The way that it was put across is that it was as simple as matching the bid in which his club paid for Tyrone Mings, which if true bonus to us and it basically seals Tyrones value for what was it 8 million... Interesting. Definitely worth that providing he stays fit rest of the season.
Ghost
Speaks eloquently and intelligently. Definitely can see him wearing the captain's armband. I really hope we can keep him at the club next season.

Sam3773
If it helps him make any decision to sign for us in the Summer, give him the armband. Seems like a natural leader.
