Davkaus
My biggest problem with Holte Enders in the sky, other than it being boring, is how the tune has been absolutely bastardised and sounds nothing like the song it's based on.

My daughter thought the idea of the recall ropes not working nad blanking the game for the top tier quite a prospect. I thought it was a nice touch for the rest of the ground, but what about those the wrong side of it? In general the atmosphere was a little nervous, understably for much of it, but the first and last ten mins were electrifying. Not quite standing in the middle of the holte home to inter Milan......but that's the joy of kids and the family section! Id love it if we could really get some momentum behind bringing standing back....might take a few years though. It was electric. Singing at the Team coming out and not being able to see them was spine tingling. I don’t suppose it would be usually but in the context of that game...... ....it was funny though watching the guys desperately hauling at the ropes to get it back up ...... KenjiOgiwara
Villa Park is always amazing when it tries to be loud, but I have to oppose a few people on Saturday. I wasn't there obviously, so could be wrong, but through the TV the stadium sounded like a library for large parts of first half.

At parts when West brom scored ut went a lil quiet but the atmosphere was superb in the game. Deafening at times where I was sitting.

chips'ngravy
One of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced at Villa Park. All sides of the ground singing and stood up all game in the Lower Holte. Went mental when Hourihane scored hugging the pissed up bloke next to me and nearly suffocating his 8 year old son in between us in the process. Was emotionally drained after the match. Absolutely bostin day all round.

These are the CORRECT lyrics to HEITS as wrote in 1971 by Keith Bryenton, we still sit on the Holte together, and last week they were sung by the remaining members of the Dougal Mob at Mad Martin Newtons funeral As I walked out at Villa Park one dark and dusty day, I spied a poor city fan a running far away I said to this poor city fan it looks like you might die He said i know `cause I've just seen Holte Enders in the sky Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky, Now he ran down the terraces and then towards the gate little did he know death was to be his fate he had one more short hour to live and then he'd hear the cry that every city fan does fear, Holte Enders in the sky, Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky, Their fists where just like granite and their pockets full of lead, and when they catch a city fan, you know he`ll end up dead `cause Villa fans rule Birmingham and City fans know why, the`ve all heard and the`ve all seen Holte Enders in the sky, Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky,, Edited May 14, 2019 by tismyk
