Premier League Relegation 18/19

Have to say watching them though nobody should be having sleepness nights about playing them next season or demanding we spend 200m to compete with them if we get promoted.

The rot has set in big time so like us a few years back I can see them getting relegated next season. Might have to do something drastic like sack Hughton to attempt to change things.

Hughton is a likeable guy and good manager to a level. He keeps it tight at back but has a habit of horrible runs like Brighton now and Norwich before

Absolutely one of the more likeable managers around but I really don't think his style is that more advanced than likes of Pulis, Warnock or Steve Bruce. O.k not as long ball as the first two but the effective gameplan is still to hit it up to Murray early and feed off his knock downs. When there's a loss of form just play a 10 man defence as they did at Wolves and Spurs.

His other problem is like at Norwich they've spent decent money on attacking players and it's not really worked. Think the Iranian guy, Locadia and Andone cost over 30m between them.

Lower half prem is his limit although Brighton will continue to be happy with that for next few years.

He would be a good manager at international level, surprised ROI didn't approach him before.

I really don't think he's that kind of manager, he's just pragmatic. He's Brighton manager not Sevilla and he's probably setting up the team to be effective rather than just 'playing nice'. Tony Mowbray did that with baggies and they got slapped up.

Brighton are getting relegated that's for sure

Cardiff relegated then.

Don't think Warnock will stay on and to me their squad dosen't have much quality, mid table. People forget they overachieved big time to get promoted in the first place.

Time for Warnock to move on, time for Cardiff to move on from Warnock.

He has gave them the gift of £100m in prize money, and at least a season's worth of parachute payments.
Get a forward thinking manager, improve the infastructure, use the money wisely and they can go again and go up way stronger than they did this year.

Fulham have **** that already with their wage bill. Cardiff are already ahead of the game.

The squad is built to play long ball direct football. Imagine Sean Morrison and Sol Bamba actually have to play out from the back....

They tried the footballing way with OGS and that experiment quickly got abandoned in favour of long ball managers.

They'll need two years to really build up a promotion capable squad, similar to what Swansea are doing.

All things considered it won’t go down as a classic relegation battle. No last minute twists and turns. Maybe if Cardiff had the decisions go for them in that Chelsea game...

Arguable who’s had the most miserable season, Huddersfield for the very low points tally; Fulham for splashing the cash the way they have and still falling considerably short, or Cardiff ultimately missing out on survival at the end but with the additional sadness hanging over them with the Salah tragedy and the subsequent unseemly fall out of all that.

Edit - obviously two men losing their lives is a sadder situation than Huddersfield not reaching 15 points or whatever - just in case I wasn’t clear!

Not for me. Fulham got a lot to sort out but if they ship out the players who don't care and keep Mitrovic they'll be play offs. Tom Cairney signed a new deal the other day, he's a stand out midfielder at this level as we saw the other season.

Mind you Stoke did all that and they've been rubbish this season.

If you play football with good players you'll get out this largely crap division easily. If you come down and play lower-PL "percentage" football with them you'll come unstuck. Teams are used to having to defend against that, and you won't be as good at is as the cloggers down here. Cardiff played big lump ball with big lump players and got up. Wolves played football through teams with their better players.

Fulham will be fine if they pass the ball.

Except for Mitrovic the other 2 havent really stood out this season

They haven't but back on familiar ground it could help them get confidence back. Remember they had an appalling start last season
