I always love these end of year album threads.

There are people on here whose opinion i trust who will always post a few belters that I've missed, so I know the next few days of listening will be interesting.

In fact I've barely heard of any of the artists, let alone the albums.

Don't worry about the new stuff.

You might like 'The King and I'?

Musical about a bald guy that doesn't wear socks ;)

OK, my list is, I guess, a slight cheat in that there's a good few on here that are old stuff, but released this year.

No order going on here, other than the first one:

1.0 Super Furry Animals - Live at the BBC quadruple album

2.0 Colorama - Cookie Zoo

3.0 Colorama - Some Things Just Take Time

4.0 Gulp - All Good Wishes

5.0 Mr - Oesoedd

6.0 Boy Azooga - 1, 2, Kung Fu

7.0 Gwenifer Raymond - You Never Were Much Of A Dancer

8.0 Jah Marcus - Word In Dub

9.0 Lee Scratch Perry - The Black Album

10.0 Lovely Eggs - This Is Eggland

11.0 The Amorphous Androgynous - The Isness (Abbey Road)

12.0 Lay Llamas - Thuban

13.0 Les Big Byrd - Iran Iraq Ikea

14.0 Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up (Memphis)

15.0 Causa Sui - Vibraciones Doradas (red)

(16.0 Wee - You Can Fly On My Aeroplane)*

* original release 1977, clearly a re release I've bought this year, no date anywhere on it, discogs have it dated as 'unknown'. It's really very very good, so it's going on the list.

Apart from Kids See Ghosts I'm not sure I've heard of a single album that's been suggested so far.

I'm sure you recognize a few on my list. You really would be out of touch if you haven't heard of Ariana Grande for example :P

Ah, I missed your list! That's a bit more recognisable.

Scorpion and SR3MM would probably be on my list too.

Thanks to your list I've just discovered this, it's ace!

It is  it's the album that I scored highest on my iTunes rating system, every track got 5 stars. Might be worth checking out Clarice Jensen - For This From That Will Be Filled which goes a step further down the route taken.

Esperanza Spalding - 12 Little Spells

;)

Just brought that up on Spotify.  Genuinely one of the worst things I've ever heard.  The musical equivalent of trying to watch more than 10 minutes of The Greatest Showman. It's a no from me.

But TheAuthority played on it!

@Designer1

Throw some decent doom my way. Not too familiar with modern music if I’m being honest. Don’t like screaming vocals. Just some nice slow, dark ,grinding doom.

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs

Modern Day Sabbath imo

Bit of a mouthful.

I would imagine their fans just call them Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs for short.

Ghost - Prequelle for me. A perfect realisation of their blend of black metal, pop and classic rock. So many great tunes and riffs packed into one album that spans everything from doom to prog to almost disco. And the whole lot backed up by a totally absurd and darkly comedic mythology. Love it.
