Aston Villa fans are showing their huge support for Dean Smith’s men over the festive period – with Trinity Road Upper now opening for our home double.

We face Stoke City on Saturday 15th December and Leeds United on Sunday 23rd December.

Gary Rowett and Marcelo Bielsa bring their respective teams to B6 for what should be a cracking duo of matches.

Fans are flocking to Villa Park as Smith continues to produce a team of exciting potential – with top results flowing home and away.

The clash with Stoke is currently at 33.5k while Leeds is on a terrific 34.6k. Both games are on general sale.

Season ticket holders who previously sat in Trinity Road Upper can claim their old seat for both matches if they’d like it – please call 0333 323 1874 to action.

The games against Swansea and Blues were 'sold out' yet the official attendances were 41,326 and 41,200, both over a thousand under our official capacity of 42,788. Even allowing for segregation issues vs Blues this seems strange. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Our capacity is less than 42k now, and has been for a couple of years.

Pretty sure it isn't. Can't see where we've lost 1500 seats and official sources including the club still state it to be well over 42k.

I know we lost a few extra seats in the North Stand a couple of seasons back. Then you have extra segregation. Our away end used to house just shy of 3k. The max we give teams now is 2750. Without checking, but our first home game of our relegation season in prem was against Man Utd, and that was sold out at 42.200. Our full capacity used to be 42700.

All that stuff was in existence when we were getting 42k plus sellouts in the Premier League though

It was, but corporates don't always go to the TV games because of KO times etc. Same with media coverage - it's lower, less journey there etc.
