kingphil Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I think if this would have happened several weeks ago - Bruce would now be prime candidate. I do think it will be Martin Jol - and that he will make a very good job at it
villa89 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 They said on SSN last night that Mike Ashleyknows who he wants and has said that the new boss will be british.
stevenjos Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Other. Im not sure if this is a dream or not but: Steve McClaren. That would be hilarious.
stewiek2 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Houllier at 22-1 on Paddypower looks a decent bet. Though I hope their 28-1 Steve McClaren bears fruit!
ED Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Actually didnt Potato head leave Wigan after a month to join another club at some point in the past? Or did I imagine that? History may repeat itself...
Grant(aka_eddy) Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Actually... we can perhaps expect to see an approach for Martin O'Neill. And for any hopeful Geordies out there....expect to be told to **** right off!!!
mjmooney Posted January 10, 2008 VT Supporter Posted January 10, 2008 What odds can you get on O'Leary? I'm not a betting man, but I'd be tempted by that one. Very long shot - Brian Little.
Ryan. Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Martin Jol methinks, no manager currently in a job would even consider going there if they had any sense
Sit_Down_Potato_Head Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Actually only one man can take over at such a place - Jossy Blair Nah, **** that - Spuggie's the favourite !
claret+blue_watch Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Either McLaren or O'Dreary would be fantastic, not to mention hilarious. Mourinho?Deluded clearings in the woods.
villab0y Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Martin Jol methinks, no manager currently in a job would even consider going there if they had any sense But would Jol? after all he went throuh at Spurs he'd be crazy to take over up there..
ianrobo1 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 you knwo what I have no idea at all Ashley is so unpredictable it could be anyone, but want a bet teh new manager's first game would be against us and imagine if it was Redknapp ????
The_Rev Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I think if Jol applies for the job, its his to lose. I dont get why Redknapp is the favourite. I just cant see him moving from his house in Bournmouth. He seems very settled and happy on the south coast and i cant see Newcastle having the potential to outdo Pompey at any time in the short to medium term (2-5 years) that his contract will be for. Actually didnt Potato head leave Wigan after a month to join another club at some point in the past? Or did I imagine that? History may repeat itself... Yep. He was manager at Wigan and left for Palace. He was only at Wigan for 7 games (i think) but i dont think he had a contract there. Then he was only at Palace for a few months before the pigdogs got him.
tonyh29 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 their chairman has said they want to play exciting football so he just ruled Mourinho out of the running
AndFos Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 their chairman has said they want to play exciting football so he just ruled Mourinho out of the running keegan??
RichardCanning Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Van Gaal, I just reckon Mike Ashley will throw money at him and he'll come
GaztonVilla Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 One of David Moyes, Mark Hughes or Stuart Pearce for me..
