Henry Watch

After seemingly coming close to having Henry as our manager, it might be interesting to follow his career as a manager as it's obvious our owners think highly of him.

He lost his first game as Monaco manager. They're now joint bottom but for goal difference.

Too early to say surely? Had a player sent off too.

Agreed. It was a nightmare first game for him. Goalkeeping mistake for the first goal, Falcao went off injured and then a player sent off. There are experienced managers that would struggle with that let alone a complete novice.

Are there that many of us actually bothered about how Henry is getting on ? Perhaps this thread will fizzle out in time ?

If Villa's results don't go well for Smith than the "I told you we should have had Henry" folks will bump this for sure.

But at the same time if smith gets it right some will say lucky escape we dodged a bullet.

I'm not convinced we were actually in for Henry due to how quickly smith was appointed

Eeek... Monaco lost again today. How have they become so bad so quickly?

They sold M'Bappe, Lamar, Fabinho, Germain, Moutinho, Carrillo,  Mendy, Bernardo Silva & Bakayoko  and replaced them all with players who aren't as good.  It's like the latter days of Randy Lerner only set on the Cote d'Azur.

*edit*

Just looking at the squad which won the title and got to the Champions League semis in 2017 and it's been decimated.  Seven of the top eight goalscorers from that side are no longer at the club, only Falcao remains.

How much did they raise from that lot though? Must have been several hundred million. The owners must be held responsible for not keeping them competitive and reinvesting the sales income.
