Goalkeeping mistake for the first goal, Falcao went off injured and then a player sent off. There are experienced managers that would struggle with that let alone a complete novice. But at the same time if smith gets it right some will say lucky escape we dodged a bullet. They sold M'Bappe, Lamar, Fabinho, Germain, Moutinho, Carrillo, Mendy, Bernardo Silva & Bakayoko and replaced them all with players who aren't as good. It's like the latter days of Randy Lerner only set on the Cote d'Azur. *edit* Just looking at the squad which won the title and got to the Champions League semis in 2017 and it's been decimated. How much did they raise from that lot though? Must have been several hundred million. The owners must be held responsible for not keeping them competitive and reinvesting the sales income.
