We need Kodija to balance two positions though with Bolasie leaving and Hogan being crap.

Not sure DS sees Hogan as crap, plus Green's back. Also the philosophy now is younger home grown players apparently, so Kodjia is ripe for a sale.

Would have been hilarious and sad if we had paid £14m for a far from dominant Championship defender while still in the Championship.

He could have been a good signing, but if we're willing to spend like that it suggests we haven't learned from previous transfer windows.

Would have been ever more hilarious if you’d paid 10 mill for a dominant championship striker and he flopped      Oh hold on

But he wanted to leave you for another championship side.

That's kinda the point.

Prices in the Championship are hilariously inflated.

PL team can spend whatever they want because of the TV money, we cant.

He might even be a half decent player, or have the potential to become one..

Would be really worried if Smith or anyone else at the club thought this would have been a good deal.

Was mainly because he had gate problems

Did Hogan have a dodgy gate as well then? I thought he just needed more chances to prove he wants to play for us.

Well Hogan was never a dominant Championship striker ;)

Apart from the cup Hogan's played about ten minutes. In that game, or one game, Smith then lamented that maybe he should have brought Kodjia on. Wasn't Hogan not even on the bench on Saturday?

Not sure Smith rates him that highly tbh.

I know we still have a week but this lack of activity is becoming a little worrying.

So far we have signed a keeper who's shipped 8 goals in 3 games and a defender whos hardly played in the last 2 years.

This last week of the window better be good.

Fair enough, I'm basing purely on their past success together. Also, he's on record saying the reason Hogan isn't getting games up front is because Abraham is scoring so frequently.

Who crows about selling players? What are the Mighty Bees going to do with mighty Bournemouths filthy lucre? Invest in another 40 backroom gurus?

We didn't get a player we were going to overpay for. Is that better or worse than selling the family silver again? Who knows.

We're not selling Kodjia to fund anything. If we do sell its because he is second choice and sulking. We'd need to replace him too, but I'm happy if we get the defenders and mids we need first.

Maybe we would crow about selling players, if we turned any kind of profit on any player in the last 10 years, and they flopped or even excelled further. We just overpay and let there contracts run out....no wonder FFP is an issue.
