Dean Smith

When Steve Bruce started the season with too few central defenders there were suggestions that he'd done it on purpose to get himself sacked.

I don't see how it's any worse than Smith going into this season with Wesley, Kodjia and Davis. Particularly with the latter two being so injury prone.

To be fair Smith didnt send a striker out on loan right at the end of the window like Bruce did with Elphick from what I remember.

I can see what Dean tried here but this isn't the group of players to pull off parking the bus.  This has been the worst midfield performance I've ever seen I think.

Too many performances like this it suggests he doesn’t know what he doing and it’s reflecting on the players  ... Bin him and hope we can get a new manager bounce like Watford seem to have done

Or stick with him and get a Hasselhuttl bounce (or whatever his name is).

Needs to do something at HT to stem the flow. Conor off and Marvellous on would be a start. Maybe Guilbert for Elmo? Hard to do too much with the personnel to be fair but a wholesale change in attitude would be appreciated

Drops Guilbert after a great display the other day, Elmo comes in, garbage, terrible for the second goal.

Brings Drinkwater straight in who has absolutely no match sharpness and plays pathetically.

Drinkwater, Luiz and Hourihane starting, absolutely weak as piss combination, leaves a defensive specialist in Nakamba on the bench.

'Clueless' springs to mind.

The team he picked was not far off the best available. Drinkwater shouldn't have started, instead Nakamba (who at least wouldn't have let Mahrez beat him twice FFS), and Guilbert should have started instead of Elmo, but apart from that, what else could be different?

The fact is we largely have a crap squad, and that crap squad are looking quite likely to be playing Championship football next season, sans Grealish and Mings.

it's really hard to find any positive to this display, not sure the selection helped anyone in the starting 11, not saying that the manager cant motivate the team to play one of the best in the league but something isn't right

Hard not to be too knee jerk and call for his head. Citeh can do this to any team on their  day So need to keep calm ...

We played like this against Watford, Leicester H, Southampton, and even the Norwich performance was horrible.

This is true, crap squad, crap manager (at this level). Lots of things need to change if we want to stay up.

It’s the manner of the defeats. It’s all too similar. No motivation or fight and that is on the manager.

The last time we put in so many pathetic and spineless performances was under Remi Garde. Sorry but I no longer back Smith, would be sad to see him go based on last season and I'm hardly going to be shouting "Smith out" from the rooftops but Smith isn't not good enough for the task in hand I'm afraid.
