We didn't do that last year. Trez has missed a sitter, we've missed a pen and a knee cap offside. People who don't see progress are choosing not to. Dominated possession and did what exactly? Let's be clear, nobody is calling for Dean's head but we are entitled to point out issues we see game after game. As I said in the match thread we concede in the first minute and he still waits until 70 minutes to make a change.

If we don't get any injuries I don't think it would be, no. We were pretty good in that game though, we just missed a load of easy chances. I'm really frustrated after watching that. Still not half as frustrated as watching us lose to 10 there last year and playing way worse.

Go back to your cave. Blame no - accountable yes - if we keep missing sitters and leaking goals - the manager will carry the can - What Trez did in the 65 minute v West Ham won't be up for discussion. But let's get our Dean smith digs in. we were robbed. this is so obvious. honestly DS made the right decisions this time around with the subs too so no fault to him for this game in my books. We were wasteful but that's down to the players. We actually played really well today imo.

We should have won this but we won't win games while we defend like a **** pub side, absolutely sick of it. Was you saying there was no progress when we was winning at the start. Teams do have bad nights you know. I have to say that we have to accept that we as a team who were nearly relegated last season to be where we are at the moment I'll take to think where I expected us to be, which is on less points. Weve had a massive player been ripped out from us which is Barkley who we ckearly needed tonight which tells you of another story in black of squad depth. I for one knew it looked at subd and seen Ghazi played that Smith is back to having to rely on him which we had forgotten after lockdown last season and did better without. Squad depth is going to stretch us because we dont have anyone to come on and make a difference. Which brings me to wonder what the hell we are doing not at least giving Ramsey the Nod for Conor when Conor was subbed off. I bet Ramsey is clearly saying after tonight: At not being brought on.. villa4europe
Last season after 9 games we had 11 points, scored 15, conceded 13 This season after 9 games we have 15 points, scored 20, conceded 13 Currently sat 10th in between the 2 Manchester clubs But we're shit and could be relegated so should sack Smith because he's taken us as far as he can and we're not progressing

We can’t keep being ‘robbed’ or ‘unlucky’... that doesn’t get us points and keep us in the league. We actually need to win some matches, and not make mistakes which leads to goals. Yes, it is. The mandate this season is to not be in a relegation battle and show signs of progression, IMO. It's not fair to move the goalposts.
Farlz
We aren't going to be anywhere near a relegation scrap. Are we really going to say this every week?
Indigo
Some of you are mad. The Brighton game was ridiculous but we made naive errors and there were rightful criticisms of how we were set up. Even still we largely dominated that game and were unlucky, this game was another level entirely. How on earth can you blame Smith for any of that. The team were caught sleeping in the first 30 seconds of the second half and Luiz lost his man for the first goal, at the other end of the pitch we've had Mahmoud "nah he's good now because he works hard" Trezeguet have another open goal special, Watkins make a mess of a penalty and that absolute farce of a VAR decision. On the balance of play we dominated the game and there are very few issues with the way we were set up that can be attributed to the actual result.

I think its fairly obvious there was progress at the start of the season from last season and I think its been very obvious in recent weeks there has been regression. What I'm seeing at the moment is regression not progress.
