They missed a step by not getting rid of Bruce as soon as they stepped into the club, but with all that was happening I can see why they didn't have time to get someone in ready for that season. Smith worked wonders to salvage the mess Bruce left and get us promoted. Just not been able to push on. And again time was a factor with so much to be done in such a short time. Exactly, if the side he inherited was OK then he wouldn't have had the job in the first place. The turnaround to promotion was great and along with the cup run this season probably the best I've felt as a Villa fan in a long while. I'd be sad if he did go but I think we are getting relegated so can see why it's being talked about. I just hope if it does happen they've got something other than Big Sam lined up. I can't see him being sacked, who will we get in? We need someone that fits the philosophy of the club, do we give a relegation specialist a 1 month contract?
