Before that, he was sorting out the mess he inherited. He had to recall players back from loan and stop the rut. He then went on an amazing run. The winning streak to get us up was a great achievement. I don't think it should be just shrugged away.

I'm not shrugging it away, it was fantastic. But more often than not we have been absolutely awful. Even last season, pre run, it was the same, no energy, no tactics, no effort.

................Steer.........................

Hutton..Elphick..Mings..Taylor

.................Whelan............

Adomah......Abraham......El Ghazi

Seem like a well capable championship team to me that should be able to hold their own even without Jack.

It’s the same for everyone though. I don’t see this as a legit excuse.

Not really. We were a game behind, we are now a game ahead. So we've played 2 extra games than everyone else in this period. But no, it's the same?!

All these first couple of weeks has shown me is that it's just as much a shambles as I expected. It's awful. We have been poor, but I'd say 90% of football has been extremely poor since the restart. We aren't on our own, we are in the majority. I just wanted to bring a bit of balance to the some of the more extreme Smith out posts.

He will probably go within the next few days. Is it right or wrong? Who knows? All depends on the replacement. If it's JT, we may aswell give up. I just wait for the 'new manager out' posts if we haven't made a brilliant start in the championship next season. We have to stabilise and give a manager some time at some point soon.

They made one appointment and it got us straight up.

You're turning on the board now?

They missed a step by not getting rid of Bruce as soon as they stepped into the club, but with all that was happening I can see why they didn't have time to get someone in ready for that season.

Smith worked wonders to salvage the mess Bruce left and get us promoted. Just not been able to push on. And again time was a factor with so much to be done in such a short time.

Not convinced handing the manager’s job to Terry would be a great move. Her is part of the failing coaching team that has got us into this mess.

I think they will give it to JT for 6 games - nothing to lose really can’t be worse than smith although I don’t think Jt should take over next season

Steer, and Elphick weren't available to Smith until January, El Ghazi had been completely left out by Bruce so wasn't match fit.

Exactly, if the side he inherited was OK then he wouldn't have had the job in the first place.  The turnaround to promotion  was great and along with the cup run this season probably the best I've felt as a Villa fan in a long while.  I'd be sad if he did go but I think we are getting relegated so can see why it's being talked about.  I just hope if it does happen they've got something other than Big Sam lined up.

That Champ team was ass and held up by loans, the team being promoted to the Prem was in a state and we needed a whole new squad with 100 odd million, it's sod all. 10 x 10m players will get you relegated.

I can't see him being sacked, who will we get in? We need someone that fits the philosophy of the club, do we give a relegation specialist a 1 month contract? Meh, then I think all motivation goes for everyone.
