Actually 16 Villa players and 6 loanees.

I wasnt including the kids as they are not part of the first team squad.

I see Tom Carroll has been sent back to Swansea today

The link says his contract ends at the end of this season, and 'next summer' which is a bit confusing

The article was written in Nov 18 - "next summer" means 2019.

MaVilla, if you copied that from transfermkt, then please note that Green signed a 2 year contract in March 2018, and Steer was given a one year extention a couple of months ago. The tables that Hornso and myself update on here, are the most up to date contract end dates lists on VillaTalk.

IF we go up looks like only McGinn, Grealish, maybe Guilbert, Kalinic and Steer of our players are good enough 100% for the premier league. Some potential elsewhere. The 5 loans would be very handy to get on the books for continuity and because if they were on our books they's be good enough to build a squad around for the Prem.

If we don't make it, Jack goes it seems, so it would mean building a squad around our strongest youth players and McGinn, Kalinic, Steer and Guilbert. On a very tight budget.

Looks a big ask either way to me. At this point even going up to come straight back down would give us a better chance of completing the rebuild over the next few windows to get a prem squad together.

2019 contract expiries (inc loans), List looks right apart from Steer, who has extended his contract to 2020,

I’d extend Green and secure as many of the loans as possible. The rest will be saying fairwell on the 27th.

Green and Steer have already signed extensions for 2020.

Dont know whats more ridiculous.  Mings worth 3.15m or Richards worth 450k.

Since there isn't a professional football club in the world that will or would pay a single penny for Micah Richards, that number is out by infinity percent.

I do love that website, but the valuations of the players are all over place and bear no resemblance to reality 😆

So Smith said on the radio 8 contracts are up.

Think that adds up with what's listed here....

Hutton, Jed, Whelan, Elphick, Bunn, Richards, Adomah...erm... De Laet?

Thanks gents, to some more than others.

Only one to maybe keep would be Elphick you'd think. We still only have one centre half, maybe see how summer goes?

Don't remember De Laet ever being that bad but his whole career here has been weird, probably just send him on his way. Thinking about it, he's better than Taylor and can cover all across the back so could be worth keeping as backup.

According to transfermarkt his move had been agreed a long time ago.  It's a shame as I think had Smith taken over earlier he'd have given him more opportunity than Bruce did.
