Mad to think it's the first clean sheet.

The goals columns in the table make interesting reading.

Only 3 teams have scored more than us. Only 5 teams have conceded more. Not exactly what you expect from a Steve Bruce side.

Hard to believe only 3 teams have scored more when we're so bloody tedious to watch.

Suppose we needed the 3 points but was there any real need to take both strikers for the last 10 minutes?

These were toothless and we could have put them to the sword.

Rot stopped but this was a gimme!

Some green shoots in the attacking side of things, but very one dimensional really still, don't like Grealish wide. Not convincing at all, with the difference in resources available between us and Rotherham the result should be a given. The performance isn't going to put fear into any of the teams above us though really is it? Still got a hell of a long way to go till we look like a team again. The run after Christmas and the Wolves result look so far away now.

Positives though, McGinn and Hourihane can play together and both looked good, just like all the rest of the players they didn't look 100% sure of what they should be doing. Bolasie and Abraham look quality at this level, clean sheet....

BUT they still look like a bunch of strangers and for all the individual quality we are less than the sum of our parts by a mile.

Only caught the 2nd half, but looks like Kodjia and Abrahams seem to be on the same wavelength. Some good precise exchanges between them. Said all along if Kodjia had people closer to him then he'd be a good team player.

By far the best attack in the league (on paper), hope Bruce shows more intent on attacking in the coming games.

Still, it was only Rotherham so not convinced we have turned any corner just yet.

Yeah, we simply have a ridiculous amount of quality in the team. All we need now is a better manager to get them going for real.

Indeed, it is almost more painful seeing how good some of them are and knowing that they will never collectively reach their full potential under this regime.

A better side and that match is different.

Rotherham are VERY, VERY poor.

3 points, clean sheet, two new players score. What is there to moan about ? Keep reading. At the end of the season it’s points that matter we can moan about playing style and exciting football when we are an established premier league team until then it’s all about the points total.

shit game but looked much more comfortable and looked much more of a threat. not sure how we’d have done against a team with more fight and more quality in them but the 4-4-2 gave us more options going forward with wide midfielders that held on to the ball and played smarter passes.

wonderful header from Bolasie.

Abraham MOTM.

Hard to assess as Rotherham were putting men behind the ball and playing on the break. Felt comfortable yet they could have easily have equalised at 1-0. Felt Kodjia, El Ghazi and Hourihane faded in the second half but McGinn and Grealish came into the game more. It was disjointed but that's no real surprise when every transfer window we seem to change half the team. I hope we can start to find a rhythm now but I'm not confident that we will.
