Hornso
Some not so good reviews...click on the links to see the fans tweets Green Quote Portsmouth fans react to Aston Villa loanee Andre Green's display Aston Villa youngster Andre Green made his league debut for Portsmouth this weekend. Aston Villa youngster Andre Green came in for some criticism from a section of the Portsmouth fans after making his League One debut for high-flyers in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury on Saturday. Green looked destined to spend the season around the first-team at Villa Park. Some inspired pre-season performances and goals hinted that he was going to find himself in Steve Bruce's plans. But after the Villans significantly strengthened their wide options in the final weeks of the summer, Green was allowed to head to Fratton Park for the rest of the campaign. The starlet boasts an enormous amount of potential, but it appears that he has step up his game considerably over the coming months if he hopes to improve his prospects at Villa Park when he does return. Kenny Jackett took Green off at half-time during their game with the Shrews. And while some supporters appeared to be confused by the decision, others felt that Jackett had made the right call. Some felt that Green was having little impact on the game and will need to improve to hold down a spot in the team while he is playing for Pompey. Steer Quote Charlton fans react to Aston Villa loanee Jed Steer's league debut Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer made his League One debut following his move to Charlton Athletic. Having started Aston Villa's opening game of the season, Jed Steer may have hoped that he would finally get the chance to establish himself as the Villans' number one five years after his arrival. But amid the additions of Andre Moreira and Orjan Nyland, Steer was swiftly loaned out to Charlton Athletic for his fourth stint away from Villa Park since his 2013 move. And the stopper got the chance to make his league debut for the Addicks in their 3-2 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. But unfortunately, it appears that a decent portion of the Charlton fans were not impressed. Steer looked particularly poor when crosses were put into his box. A number of fans felt that the Villa-owned ace flapped at balls into the penalty area too often without having too much success. His distribution also came in for criticism, with some supporters suggesting that keeping faith with Dillon Phillips would have been a better decision from Lee Bowyer. Steer will be hoping to improve once he gets more appearances under his belt, but after conceding four goals in his first two games - they lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon - it appears that he already has some critics that he needs to win over. Davkaus
Quote The standout out of the pair at present has to be Elphick. Arriving from Aston Villa with over 318 league appearances to his name, Nigel Adkins knew exactly what he would be getting from the 31-year-old. An experienced defender, who has acquired the know-how and nous during his time in the Football League to be real success in black and amber, and so far he has proved to be just that. Coming into the side to partner Jordy de Wijs against Ipswich, who has so far struggled to cope in the Championship, Elphick had an immediate effect by calming the defence down and acting as a leader City have been so desperately missing at the back. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/tommy-elphick-showing-worth-already-2021922 Meanwhile, we're a week away from trying to sign pensioners. Not a record but an impressive effort. Hows that Bruce bashing exactly? It was a point made in reference to SGC saying Richards offers experience at the back, it as a point offering that Bruce has experience at the back - ie they are both finished as professional footballers. Seems some people are so blinded by obligatory Bruce defending they don't even realise the difference anymore.
