The bit below is scary...How anyone can forgive Xia, Wyness, Round and even Bruce for putting us in this situation is beyond me.

Last July, our Football Club could not make a £4,100,000 bill to HMRC, we were bankrupt. If these two didn’t put £60,000,000 in very quickly, we would have been liquidated. We’d have been Glasgow Rangers, we’d be starting again.

If our club had of gone under I'd of never forgave Xia, fact is I believe he had good intentions and heart towards our club. I believe still that xia wanted and still wants the best for Villa, it just so happen it didn't work out and because of it we are where we are right now.

One thing you can Praise Xia for is selling to our current owners with best intentions.

Sometimes you have to take some knocks for things to start going right, just so happens Villa's knocks lasted about two decades. It's took a long time to get two very excellent Owners and a regime who want to build for success and not be a seller club anymore.

It doesn’t matter what his intentions were he was a fraud.

If the club had gone bankrupt the Football league should have been made accountable for him passing the fit and proper test in the first place.  The guy has nothing and was just spending the clubs money and loans against the clubs assets including against the parachute payments!!

The fact that the football league have apparently been lenient towards us since the takeover is probably because they were bricking it for letting him take over the club in the first place.

Great Q and A with Purslow from Minnesota today. Some interesting snippets in there.

He interviewed DS at 10:30pm until 4:00am!

He fills me with confidence every time he speaks. He’s the real deal.

The only bit I didn't like was when he talked about leaving the club. He needs to stay long term 🤞🏻

I think 2-3 is unfortunately a bit short. At the very minimum we need winger, DM and a striker. I'd also argue one more DMC/CM for cover. We are just paper thin squad wise. Ideally I'd like two wingers in, but doubt that will happen. And the reason for that is that I really don't think Green has what it takes. Not even remotely.

He sacked Steve Bruce at precisely the right time. Any later and this season would have ended much differently imo. I like him! For now.

Yeah, if it was earlier we probably would have done it automatically.

That's a great Q&A from Christian. He seems to really get the Villa and what the fans are looking for. I love the way he said that when he leaves the club it will be financially secure for the next 140 years.

It's good to know that the money being spent is not beyond our means!

I took the view last year that yes Xia gambled and thought we would get to the Premier League but it was Wyness that pushed for us to be made bankrupt etc so that his new mates could pick the club up cheaply.

Xia then did everything he could (and yes selling off the Villa family assets) to keep the club running and avoid administration.  He did it long enough to bring in new investors.

Did Purslow drop a hint about Maupay / Benrahma? He said we are looking at players that have played for DS before 🤔🤔

He also said that we want 2 players for each position, so does that mean 2 x DCM, I X ST and 1 x RW?

I think that depends a lot on whether he means 2 specialists per position, or just 2 PL-quality players in the squad who can cover each position.

They may be factoring in Jack / Kodj / Elmo as cover for RW, and Hourihane / Konsa / McGinn as cover at DCM.

The only player our squad is clearly short of at the moment is a defensively-minded engine room in the middle. Otherwise, I think given we don't have European football to worry about, we don't need a massive squad, and it's just about adding a bit of quality to the first choice 11.

He’s still the one that recruited Wyness.  Madness!
