From my basic French it reads as it is complicated for Villa as the player wants to remain in France? The only way this looks like it might happen is if the club tell him he has to go as they want the money. Purely speculating here of course. It is a big move for the lad, not only in distance but stature of club and expectation on him. He is only 20 years old, so a few hours thinking time is fair enough. Whilst i don't disagree that it's a sensible approach for a young man to take, he could have done that in Birmingham. I'm not sure those are the loans we're proposing. Our FFP status is improved next summer as the three year period for calculation won't include the £80m loss we made in our relegation season - these are transfers with the fee changing hands in the summer of 2019 - or at least that's my reading of both this one and the El Ghazi one. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would say it is 50/50 as to whether he comes or not. There is not a lot we can do now but wait, and I am looking for the positive while we wait.
