I imagine we will see 9 or 10 changes again, which will lead to players playing in preferred positions rather than shoehorned into the 11! 2-1 Villa. Scrappy game. Hourihane and Green to score. We have yet to lose to Nigel Clough's side having won 3 and drawn 1 of the ,previous 4 league games between the two clubs. The game at Sheffield at the weekend has priority here and that record is at threat should we play anything like we did in the previous round. They will be well up for this one and our players will know they have been in a game at the end of it. Our current fringe players should relish the opportunity that this competition gives them to press their case for future first team consideration. Whether they do so or not will determine whether they get another chance to do so in 2018. Just imagine in the next round, plucky little Aston Villa drawing one of the big boys from the Premier League, like Watford, Bournemouth, Brighton or Huddersfield and bringing them to Villa Park under the floodlights, and all that hot dog razzamatazz...
