Tammy Abraham

So this Chelsea say £50m for Tammy story, are some taking that to mean that a loan to any other club is now off the cards?

I’m still not entirely convinced we’re in the clear here. The likelihood of him staying has swung back very much in our favour, I’d agree. But am still a little bit cautious.

Fair enough. Haven’t seen him enough then I guess. Would still like him in our team through.

Couldn’t agree more.  If the 14th January is fact, then it’s squeaky bum time for a few more days.  However, the signs are looking good that he’ll be staying now.

Purely speculation on my part, but with the coaching staffs emphasis on video analysis and breaking down phases of play, and what could be improved - it wouldn’t surprise me if we used this in our favour.

By this, I mean clipping up Wolves attacking play, against ours and discussing the strength in our play to suit TA’s game in comparison to how Wolves play. Highlighting the lower chance of scoring opportunities for him in their system.

He will be better served staying here where he is settled and banging in more goals rather than upheaval, settling again and scoring just a few goals. He can then reassess in the summer the best move for him.

I think if coaches actually did that he'd leave.

Part of Mirror Group Newspapers. It's not been a reliable source for Villa news for many years.

I'll take your word for that mate, I'm just relaying what's floating around as it's first said from these papers/media groups..

i cant help but be confident here...with the grealish tweet etc i just cant see it happening. i do hope we're not disappointed...in addition to our promotion bid being finished we'd be a laughing stock

I dont see how we would be a laughing stock if Tammy went and promotion was off the cards. I for one am not expecting us to go up, sure it would be nice, but i feel we are not ready by a longshot. Smith has only brought a couple of players and using a team from an old regime. Our owners had said it may tame a few seasons and were playing the long game for promotion, that promotion wasnt a must be and a requirement.

I do think we have to many fans that are expecting a world of pleasure from just a tickle lol. Really its going to take an imense amount of Passion, time and patience to get rite what these other teams have been getting rite for some time.

Tammy I'm confident will stay, I think he wants that boot, he's got a fair few trophy but that one eluded him rite?? I think he's as close has he's ever been to getting it and will pursue it with us. Tammy is gifted and while there are other clubs showing interest out of the premiere. I'd say it shows Tammy as one hell of a person inside to declines wolves absurd amount of money. I think If we do go up, we will pursue Tammy as our player next season. I think Chelsea know if he stays and scores a crazy amount with us that they will slap a massive price on him, knowing we have two very wealthy owners and FFP will have eased, that we could pay whatever it is they want if we're in the premiere and we would be crazy not to, we all love Tammy, he knows it, he seems happy with us and it would be absoloute madness not to bring him to villa permenent. I think If Tammy was with us in the end that he would prove himself in the premiere as a player finally and then go on to get more international games. I feel his path his with us if we're in the premiere, its all about whether our season goes the rite way.

I am not liking the vibe surrounding Tammy seems like his camp are touting him around.

Think we should move on without him, despite the loss.

We have to build a team of players who want to be at Villa....I think he has soured the relationship.

No more loans without buy back clauses.

its becoming a circus.

Patience lol why you'd want to 'move on' when the ball looks like its now in our court is absolutely mind-boggling. Only got to wait 5 more days mate !

I've not seen that much apart from against us, but sounds like what we exactly need here lol, he obviously gets away with alot at times, or does he not get away with it the majority of times?

Some players get away with murder, we don't have any who even try which I do respect but also feel bad for them because it's happening to them.

As I keep saying we need to play the rest of teams in the championship at there own games, it isn't getting us anywhere being a team that doesn't commit tactical fouls, so on.

Stick Maupay next to Grealish in a False 9  that way Grealish has a minder and the opposition won't come near Jack 😂

He would have been 19/20 at the time. Still just a kid.  Plus many seem to say he didn’t even have that much involvement in signings at Brentford. No idea how true that is.

Anyway Tammys staying so we don’t really need him this season. But I am a fan.

That is Correct,  DS was the head coach and only had a small say in Player Recruitment, it's all handled by a specialist  team using statistics and the like, that was the reason for Mark Warburton leaving as he wanted full control over players coming in, and Brentford don't work like that anymore, the Head coach is left to concentrate on the playing side of things, there are now other clubs looking to go down the same route, as they have seen Brentford make over £50 million profit in 3/4 seasons on sales.

Anyway, back to the Tammy thread, he's got a great future with whoever he signs for, a talented player indeed.

No way Smith had little say in transfers. Had to consult others maybe, some of  who would be left to handle negotiation, but little say? Nah. He has a big say at Villa for instance. And it will be a committee system as well.

Its not a new system or anything Brentford came up with. The NFL have been doing this for decades.
