Or because jack was in the middle and created space and played passes for el ghazi to run onto.

Occam's razor and all that. It's just excuses for avoiding the reality that he's pretty shit at football. Or that's an exxageration. He's not PL quality and that's the crux of it.

You don't directly contribute to 10% of a teams goals and not be prem quality. You seem to be under the impression that to be prem quality a player has to be able to be a regular in the man City side and that just isn't the case. El ghazi has struggled yes but so would any one in a team as devoid of movement as ours have generally been. If you look at the best teams there are always 2 or 3 options for the player with the ball to pass to. With us it is stopping turning around and playing a pass 20 yards back to elmo or playing a risky ball to mcginn who is surrounded by 4 defenders.

Even if we add all the quality in the world but we keep playing the way we have played this last season and we still wouldn't finish top 6.

Bit of a backhanded compliment considering our strikers scored 3 goals between them.

Either way it's all subjective. I don't think he's the PL quality you wish him to be. Neither as backup or anything else. Suspect Deano agrees as well. He'll be moved on quickly or replaced by youth in no time.

He has got all the attributes to be a top player, and at times he shows flashes of real quality. But he just doesn't seem to get his act together. As said his decision making lets him down far too often. He has been with us for two seasons now so it's no longer just a question of adapting.

Or perhaps he is one of those players who are top performers in the Championship, but not good enough for the PL. Many players fall into that gap.

Found a place where people are complimentary of AEG. The Bristol City forum match thread.

Was excellent weighted pass by AEG in front of Trez to take one touch and put it on a plate for Watkins

Watched extended highlights and can't understand why he got so much stick. Really tidy play in front of our goal before the Watkins goal that he assisted the assist. Would've had 1 on 1 with Keeper if Davis played him through instead of turn and shoot that got tipped over.

Yes he blazed wide several times but some inches wide but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

Exactly this, but some players can't do aything right in a lot of peoples opinions

Watched the full match, he was ok took player’s on took shots bit wasteful at times with his shooting should have had a a hatrick but to be fair Watkins missed a good opportunity as did Ramsey at the end, he seems easy to single out, but he was frustrating at times, but much better than his timid display against Burton, happy to have him here as a squad option and for cup games.
