Occam's razor and all that. It's just excuses for avoiding the reality that he's pretty shit at football. Or that's an exxageration. He's not PL quality and that's the crux of it. nepal_villan
Thought he was lively tonight and made a lot of good runs. However something just does not seem to click with him.

You don't directly contribute to 10% of a teams goals and not be prem quality. You seem to be under the impression that to be prem quality a player has to be able to be a regular in the man City side and that just isn't the case. El ghazi has struggled yes but so would any one in a team as devoid of movement as ours have generally been. If you look at the best teams there are always 2 or 3 options for the player with the ball to pass to. With us it is stopping turning around and playing a pass 20 yards back to elmo or playing a risky ball to mcginn who is surrounded by 4 defenders. Even if we add all the quality in the world but we keep playing the way we have played this last season and we still wouldn't finish top 6.

I agree, talent is there but decision making is just abysmal time and time again.
villaglint
He’s a confidence player, it comes easily but it goes away even easier unfortunately.

AVTuco Posted September 24, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2020 Has a role to play from the bench, and has some upside.

Bit of a backhanded compliment considering our strikers scored 3 goals between them. Either way it's all subjective. I don't think he's the PL quality you wish him to be. Neither as backup or anything else. Suspect Deano agrees as well. He'll be moved on quickly or replaced by youth in no time.

Tomaszk
Should have had four. He's getting pretty close to falling out the matchday squad, could be on Monday.
Keener window-cleaner
He has got all the attributes to be a top player, and at times he shows flashes of real quality. But he just doesn't seem to get his act together. As said his decision making lets him down far too often. He has been with us for two seasons now so it's no longer just a question of adapting. Or perhaps he is one of those players who are top performers in the Championship, but not good enough for the PL. Many players fall into that gap. Kiwivillan
Found a place where people are complimentary of AEG. The Bristol City forum match thread. Was excellent weighted pass by AEG in front of Trez to take one touch and put it on a plate for Watkins Edited September 25, 2020 by Kiwivillan
Popular Post Kiwivillan
Watched extended highlights and can't understand why he got so much stick. Really tidy play in front of our goal before the Watkins goal that he assisted the assist. Would've had 1 on 1 with Keeper if Davis played him through instead of turn and shoot that got tipped over. Yes he blazed wide several times but some inches wide but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
theboyangel
I’m pleased he was confident enough to have a pop at goal - at times last season we were crying out for players to have a shot!
