Hold up play and work rate was piss poor. Not impressed.

Then again being played out of position, so can't expect too much.

We must have been watching different games. Playing out of position, he worked his bo llocks off, was constantly moving and actually held up the ball on several occasions.

Yeah, I just watched the highlights and multiple times he brought down a high ball or a drilled past from midfield and laid it off to people. Really impressive hold up play. People just look for what they want to see is the problem.

He really hasn’t been at all.

Yeah we've been noticeably more disjointed as a team since Wesley got injured. Anwar's done an admirable job filling in, but it's not close to the real thing. As bad as Wesley has been at times, he's still a proper striker.

Wesley's 60 odds mins against Burnley is better than anything El Ghazi has done. Fair play to El Ghazi for trying his best but he has been pretty much useless as a striker, doesn't have presence, doesn't make good runs, can barely remember an effort on target that he has had since playing there, it's just not his position at all whatsoever.

Crazy that people were clamouring for him to start when Wesley was floundering as well as God forbid, Trezeguet.

I’ve never seen someone be so affected by confidence. When low on confidence he is awful, yet when in confidence like today he can be unplayable at times. Some of the touches and speed of thought today were great to see, him and Luiz were making one touch passes look easy

Surprised this thread hasn't been bumped. He was great today, really dangerous and involved in a lot of our best moves. Hope he can have another moment of magic at Wembley.

I didn't get to see match only some highlights including his pass to Jack before Targett goal but he was being called anonymous in match thread

Pretty sure that was Luiz. But yeah that's the default line used against him unless he scores or assists. He was causing all kinds of problems especially in the first half and was combining really well with Luiz and Guilbert on the right. Started to fade second half and was subbed for Trez.

Out of rep but agree completely. Played very well, looked relieved to be back in a more familiar position!
