Does anybody have any ideas of where is good to park tonight ? Thanks ?

Somewhere near Yeovil would probably be best.

Unless you're just going home, in which case probably best off on your drive. ;)

Huish Park is located on the very outskirts of Yeovil and is signposted from the A303. Leave the A303 at the Cartgate roundabout and take the A3088 towards Yeovil. Follow the road for around four miles until you reach a roundabout on the outskirts of Yeovil with the Westlands Airfield directly in front of you. Turn left at this roundabout and then continue straight on, crossing a number of roundabouts. As you pass the entrance to an Asda superstore, take the next left for the ground, which can be seen from the road.

There is a fair sized car park at the ground (located behind the away end) which costs £3. However as can be expected, it can take quite sometime after the game has ended to exit. Otherwise, there is plenty of street car parking to be had on the roads leading down to the ground. Tim Porter a visiting Torquay United fan informs me; 'make sure you arrive at the official car park, early in winter as you may end up in the overspill car park, which actually is a field which doesn't drain nearly as well as the pitch!'  Richard Reardon adds; 'Getting away from the ground was a bit of nightmare as there is only one road out of the official car park. It took 35 minutes to travel the half mile to the Preston Road roundabout'.

Post Code for SAT NAV: BA22 8YF

How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking?

Really easy, the sat nav took me right to the entrance of the ground. There was a separate car park for away fans priced at £3, however there is ample street parking within a five minute walk, so I parked on a nearby housing estate.

Also for tonight from the Yeovil Town OS....

Due to ongoing roadworks in the surrounding area, the club offers the following advice for getting to and from Huish Park on Tuesday night for the Carabao Cup tie with Aston Villa (7.45pm).

Traffic heading eastbound on Lufton Way will be unable to reach the Preston Road (Asda) roundabout due to a road closure as part of ongoing Somerset County Council roadworks.

However, westbound traffic is still able to enter Lufton Way from the roundabout allowing access to the Houndstone Estate in the direction of Huish Park.

The club would advise allowing extra time to travel to the stadium, but asks all those in attendance on Tuesday night to read the following regarding exiting at full-time:

  • Due to the road closure, a one-way system exists with all traffic having to leave the area via Copse Road and onto Western Avenue
  • YTFC has engaged the services of traffic management personnel to assist with the traffic flows. This will help but there is a limit to the potential improvement due to the restricted routes
  • No waiting cones will be placed in certain areas around Huish Park to ease congestion on key routes
  • Please be patient at the end of the fixture
