Van Hool is the way to go if you all want all the bells and whistles, but it comes at a cost

(I'm not a coach-spotter, its an industry segment I specialise in) :D

Not for me - didn't like his style at Man Utd.

Getting the right backroom staff will be crucial, he will also instantly command the respect of the players. Time will tell if he's actually any good though. It could be that he has some really good ideas and can motivate players as well. Or, he might just struggle to communicate with what are essentially 'shite' players well below any level he has ever played at.

Well he played in the MLS and certain pundits made it clear they were not impressed with his obvious signs of frustration towards his teammates, whilst the game was being played.

The Belgium players didn't seem too bothered with Martinez but did seem to have something with Henry.

World class players performing at the highest level. It's Henry's natural environment. The Championship ain't.

We have to give any new manager a chance..

It will either be an episode of RDM all over again or a case of finishing tge job Bruce couldn't.

What I am wondering.. if any new arrivals are to arrive, who's going to be negociating the deals?

Nah the Terry thread was the same when he signed. He soon changed opinions.

Henry will do the same.

That’s true Terry did pretty much unite us... who’d have thought such a conversial player would end up being the one we mostly agreed on.

I hope it’s the same with Henry. But bad on Bruce how the story has got out if it is happening, not fair for everyone to know what’s going on before it’s confirmed to him.

From what I can gather Henry has upset a few Irish fans in the past .  (Not sure if that's hippo's reasoning but I doubt we'll be doing any Irish tours if Henry came here)

Well I'm Irish and ya I did dislike him for a while but I would have done the same in his position so can't stay angry for something I would and a lot of other Irish people would have done

The real reason is ireland should have won that game well before that handball in extra time and that's why so many Irish were so pissed off

And if he does well with villa definitely all will be forgiven in my eyes

Well although I would feel sorry for Bruce, I just don’t know what sort of players he would attract/bring in, he’s lost Wyness and Round too.

Does very much feel like it’s Theirry Henry time, and I can’t lie, that does actually excite me as I think he has a pedigree and probably more hunger then Bruce, I imagine Henry’s thirst to develop and learn more is insatiable and he will have us in the top 5 and playing decent football.

No we weren’t. We should have had more points then we did at that point. We played Huddersfield and forest of the park and some how drew.

We conceded stoppage time goals v Brentford and Barnsley.  When Bruce came in we played teams mainly below us which allowed to us pick up points. Then come January when we played some better teams we had a run that was the same as RDM’s.

There’s no way we would have got relegated.

You can't say for sure there's no way we would have got relegated, facts are under Di matteo we wasn't winning games, it doesn't matter how close we was or how well we played. Pretty sure Luton Town even gave us a hiding under Di matteo.

Sunderland left there change in manger late and couldn't then turn it around, that could easily have been us if we didn't get Bruce in when we did.

Remains to be seen if that's a 5 Campus or a 5 GT Turbo

Ah yes, the 5 turbo. The legendary model that would get you half way to your destination quicker than anything else on the road and then explode in a ball of flame because the turbo overheated.

I hope this doesn't become an accurate analogy!

Not doubting your experience at all and whilst I didn’t know the man, I took a strong dislike to the way O’Leary publicly acted in regards to Villa but always wished him success whilst he managed us.

As of yet, I’ve yet to see a reason to wish Henry ill should he become Villa manager.

Same here was 2 weeks before his first official game as manager ????

Doubt that very much. Guess we’ll never know. But not sure how you can determine we would have got relegated from watching 11 games. Especially when the managaer that took over also managed to go on an 11 match run during the same season only  picking up 8 points. Even after spending a further 20+ million pounds.
