Yuen_Biao
Florian looked good and did a good job of keeping Stevenson at bay. Dustin Hazelett is pretty good, never seen him fight before but had heard his reputation was high. That 'rubber guard' is a strange one! Lesnar is a beast and will take some beating, I think Antonio Nogueira could be the man to beat him!
evel
^ check out shinya aoki, if u wanna see mor of the rubber guard stuff in mma, or its originator eddie bravo in BJJ.
PompeyVillan
I say draft in a few Sumos to take on Lesnar, he cant have the division entirely to himself.
Gabby15
The rumours of Anderson - Liddell are fantastic. I really hope it's true.
Tegis Posted December 11, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted December 11, 2008 Watched latest fight night. Koschecks KO of Yoshida will be on highlight reels for a long time. And for all the gore sites out there so will the breaking of Al-Hassan arm by former WEC champ Steve Cantwell. It was outright nasty and why Al-Hassan didn't tap out from the armbar I will never know. Yuck! Rest of the fights where meh! This weekend it's the Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale. Main Card * Lightweight Final: Phillipe Nover vs. Efrain Escudero * Light Heavyweight Final: Ryan Bader vs. Vinicius Magalhães * Welterweight bout: Kevin Burns vs. Anthony Johnson * Middleweight bout: Wilson Gouveia vs. Jason MacDonald * Lightweight bout: Junie Browning vs. Dave Kaplan Preliminary Card * Light Heavyweight bout: Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Shane Primm * Light Heavyweight bout: Eliot Marshall vs. Jules Bruchez * Light Heavyweight bout: Kyle Kingsbury vs. Tom Lawlor * Lightweight bout: Shane Nelson vs. George Roop * Lightweight bout: Rolando Delgado vs. John Polakowski I really like the look of Vinny Magalhães. His BJJ is really something to behold. Hope he submits Bader, he's boring. Phillipe Nover also looks good. I think he will take Escudero out. Jason McDonlad is a personal favorite, usually very exciting fights when he's involved. And "big mouth loon" Junie Browning will hopefully be knocked out. Annoying tit! Tegis Posted December 27, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2008 UFC 92 tonight. Awesome card but Okami really should be on the main card. Hope Forrest and Rampage wins! Mir has the tools to beat Big Nog but he really needs to be in top shape for this. Nog probably has the best chin in MMA Main card * Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans * Interim Heavyweight Championship bout: Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir * Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva * Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Mostapha Al Turk * Middleweight bout: C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio Preliminary card * Middleweight bout: Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister * Heavyweight bout: Antoni Hardonk vs. Mike Wessel * Light Heavyweight bout: Matt Hamill vs. Reese Andy * Welterweight bout: Brad Blackburn vs. Ryo Chonan * Heavyweight bout: Dan Evensen vs. Patrick Barry
kurtsimonw
Forrest Griffin, Rampage Jackson and Frank Mir. That'd do me.
Tom_L
Really looking forward to this.... A really strong card and an unusually strong undercard. unusually for me, i'm looking forward to the main event the most... it's really hard to call... i would give Forrest the edge but Rashad has always defied the odds. Also hoping Big Nog takes out Mir and Wandy beats Quinton... although who knows what he'll do this time if he loses... :|
Gabby15
Contains Spoilers: Pleased to say I got all 3 of my predictions right for the main fights 8) Rampage's KO was true highlight reel stuff & him standing over Silva as he was flat out was a sight to behold. Mir looked fantastic & Nog didn't even get close to him. Lesnar will beat him though. That new ring girl is hot :!:

PompeyVillan
Thought Frank Mir was sensational. Really enjoyed that one, but was a bit upset about Evans beating Griffin. Evans is a cocky twait, and I think he got a wee bit lucky. Rampage is facing a 3 year jail sentence aint he?
Gabby15
Even more epic! They can't send Rampage down, he's famous!
Tegis Posted January 1, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted January 1, 2009 Finally got to see it. Damn holidays! Meeeeh at Rashad! Forrest dominating him for 2 rounds and then a one punch gives him the edge. Still, it shows that Forrest is very much lacking the big knockout hands. Shame, don't care much for Rashad, hope somebody takes his head off soon. Speaking of which, Rampage is back. Wohoo. Epic KO of the great Wanderlei. And the best of the night. Frank Mir! Awesome display against Big Nog. Was he even hit? Not over reacting when knocking him down, instead inviting him back up and not letting that iron chin rest. Loved it. Now take out Lesnar again! Mirs toolbox is so much bigger but the size will be a factor. Okami winning again and Kongo moving up the ladder are other noticeable results. JoeFoSho
Thought Frank Mir was sensational. Really enjoyed that one, but was a bit upset about Evans beating Griffin. Evans is a cocky twait, and I think he got a wee bit lucky. Rampage is facing a 3 year jail sentence aint he? I agree about Mir, he was outstanding. He'll have to up it even more against Lesnar though. Last time they fought Brock hadn't even heard of BJJ now he trains defending from it heavily. This could be the fight of the year (not that UFC and Lesnar haters will admit it) if Mir can avoid those Anvilles on the end of brocks leglike arms. Although I think you'll find the more Rashad practices, the luckier he gets. You can land a lucky punch but you can't luck your way to 13 wins and 0 defeats and the UFC title in the most stacked division in MMA. Mohammed Ali was a "cocky twait" but if you can back it up then I say you can mouth off to your heart's content. I think Rampage is in trouble over drink driving. Luckily for him there are masses of lawyer's who specialise in getting driving charges quashed. He's not going away...Let's just hope he doesn't spend his 'knockout of the night' money on cars and booze again. P.S. Is anyone elselooking forward to Neil Grove debuting in the UFC? I know Cage Rage is hardly the pinnacle but he stepped into headline fights at a few days notice and won in seconds. The man is a collosus (think Tim Sylvia with thicker arms) and I think he will make a big splash in the Heavyweight division.
Tegis Posted January 2, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted January 2, 2009 Is anyone elselooking forward to Neil Grove debuting in the UFC? Haven't seen him but if there is another good HW around then I'm all for it. The division has been dull as hell for a few years. Thank god for the return of Mir and the emergence of Lesnar. It's slowly getting better.

Tegis Posted January 17, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted January 17, 2009 Feck I forgot! Thanks for the heads up. I like both Franklin and Henderson so I'm not really fused over who wins or loses. But I'm VERY interested in seeing "Shogun" Rua again. The way he lost to Forrest was a bit surprising. Hopefully he'll be his old nasty self again tonight. And Jeremy Horn! Legend! 103 professional MMA fights!
Gabby15
4 out of 5 predictions right, the wrong one was the bloke making his debut from Korea as I didn't really know too much about him so I took a wild swing. Not the best of events but certainly nowhere near the worst.
Tegis Posted January 18, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted January 18, 2009 Rua - Coleman, oh dear. Compare that to the Henderson Franklin fight. Rua and Coleman looked like two pinetrees swinging in the wind. Both gassed after 30 seconds. Horrible fight and Rua is nowhere near the top of the 205 division. Nice knockdown of the 44 year old Colman in the end. VERY disappointed. Henderson impressed me. Thought he won that fair, except the eye poke, nasty. The judge scoring all three rounds to Franklin must have been high, drunk and stupid. Highlight of the night was the sumission by Belcher and the Davies - Lytle fight. And Horn i still a legend!
