thing is flying first class around the world, meeting president trump, getting a night in the white house, getting a bang on 9 course banquet, getting to see all the sights and treated like an absolute rockstar...non of that is actually "corrupt"

remember the £16k watches that caused trouble in 2014 and they all had to give them back? what they dont tell you is that Hublot were the official time keepers of the tournament and they gave every Fa member a free watch that they got to keep (the watch from 2018 is worth £4,500)

the amount of non illegal / non corruption gift giving around these votes and tournaments is shocking, like i said in the qatar thread these guys are going to spend a 4-6 weeks living on another planet, its not brown paper envelopes stuffed with cash that can sway the vote, its the whole party

I'm not allowed to keep any gift off a customer, even if its a £20 bottle of whisky (they get auctioned off and funds go to charity)

Most big companies will have a similar policy.

The fact the FA doesn't shows them up for what they are,

It is because CONCACAF ( the North American confederation) are due a turn.

The next world cup is Asia, this year is Europe, last WC was South America, the one before was Africa, the one before that was Europe, the one before that was Asia, the one before that was Europe, by the time 2026 comes around it will be a 32 year gap between CONCACAF hosting.

The 2030 WC will be awarded to either Africa or COMNOBOL again.

God that south africa world cup was one of the worst

Terrible idea for a World Cup, 48 teams, the main host has a huge human rights problem

Think the host cities might be even further away from each other than Euro 2020

Wont be long until saudi arabia are hosting one

So the Las Vegas stadium not ready in time then.

Will be yet another WC to cross off as a pure spectacle. FIFA and UEFA are destroying football with the help of the Saudis (FIFA) and Qatar (UEFA)

Wonder how many half baked rule changes they will be able to push through in time for this WC. Gotta maximize the add revenue somehow.

Nah it's ready. Been in use for two NFL seasons. It was rejected  in the 2nd round of host eliminations. Dunno why but probably because of their inbred main tenants :D

No, sounds like our lot want to go it alone and built their own 30k stadium rather than be a tennant of the raiders

Telling that the yanks are using NFL stadiums, a few of them I think are multi use (definitley atlanta) but not a single soccer stadium there

And FIFA will be the toast of every owner of an American budget airline, it will look reasonable at this distance but you know the flights will go through the roof to rip fans off, it's another world cup that on paper would be fun to set up a base city and watch as many teams as you can but as a travelling fan you're going to get your pants pulled down

The yanks could without a problem hold the WC in Texas alone. These are football stadiums only, not counting a bunch of baseball grounds that might be useful.

Kyle Field
Capacity: 102,733

Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium
Capacity: 100,119

Cotton Bowl
Capacity: 92,100

AT&T Stadium
Capacity: 80,000

NRG Stadium
Capacity: 72,22

Alamodome
Capacity: 64,000

Jones AT&T Stadium
Capacity: 60,454

Sun Bowl Stadium
Capacity: 51,500

Rice Stadium
Capacity: 47,000

Problem with Texas thou is that all foreigners would be arrested or shot on sight for being funny looking or looking at them funny.

Gets a bit warm in Texas too, might be another winter WC…

Or they could bring back the plastic bags of water dotted around the pitch like in ‘94.

Wasn't it the german world cup in 06 that the England team were moaning about blisters and footwear partly because of the heat but also because they didn't water the pitches very well?

Going back to the stadiums being NFL stadiums I'm sure some of them will be astro turf and not grass, New York stadium is, I'm sure Los Angeles is too, we'll see what happens there, not only in terms of using grass but the stadium managers ability to then make it suitable to play on
