sharkyvilla
Ha that Suarez miss fooled me (and the commentators) completely. Thought it had gone in and got disallowed for something.
NurembergVillan Posted June 15, 2018 Moderator Share Posted June 15, 2018 I fancied Uruguay to really impress in this tournament but so far they've looked neat on the ball but pedestrian.
Chindie Posted June 15, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted June 15, 2018 Oddly this reminds me of O'Neill era Villa match against someone like Wigan. A talented with flaws team against a well drilled jobbing team, where neither is quite up to speed. Uruguay are clearly the better side but aren't at the races, going at half speed and lacking any edge. Egypt are well organised and hard working without much spark. Unsurprisingly it's dull. Were this a league game it's got draw written all over it. And probably goalless.
BOF Posted June 15, 2018 Author Moderator Share Posted June 15, 2018 Man of the match so far is the ref. Has shown common sense and not been fooled by any of the attempted shenanigans. Looks like he should progress beyond the group stages

a m ole
Absolutely shocking half from Uruguay, Suarez poster boy of the performance.
LondonLax
Godin played well. Egypt have spoilt well in the midfield though with their two defensive mids.

villa4europe
Slow it down and make them do something in midfield and expose them as not being a very good team despite having a top quality striker Copy and paste when england are playing
a m ole
shit match, suarez was abysmal all game but what a header from Gimenez Edited June 15, 2018 by a m ole
maqroll
Egypt keeper is good, tough luck at the end. Lot of empty seats is a bad look though.

Invited the foul which is fair enough, then not only massively exaggerates the impact, but while falling down attempts to launch himself head first into the legs of another player and clutches his head in agony as he hits the ground, despite not making contact with the player. I **** hate that word removed so much.
VILLAMARV
Terrible game but the right team won in fairness, despite my anti-Suarez leanings. Thought the World Cup gods were going to punish him a bit today. Thought he was poor by his standards in the match to be fair. Next!
Genie
Suarez is a horrible man. I had the game on in the background, when the goal went in I really hoped it wasn’t him. Thank god.
Czechlad
The World cup typically favors nations that start slow, so that might be a positive for Uruguay. They managed to get the win despite a mediocre match.

Zatman
Possibly worst game in World Cup history, would love see a Godin heatmap he was everywhere Salah is nowhere near fit as that game was there for them
VILLAMARV
Russia and Uruguay sitting pretty after round one then. Saudi Arabia are looking like they're going to be the whipping boys, hard to see them grabbing a point on the last showing. Egypt simply need Salah fit enough to play. Tuesday's game against Russia is huge for them. Russia need a win to go through. Uruguay should be all but through by the 3rd round of matches although an Egypt win on Tuesday might make it interesting.
