After the Middlesbrough game Aston Villa have 57 points out of a possible 114. The final projected points total will currently be 69 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th.

There is still 24 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 81 points.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 70 points that is points after 46 games. That has included of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 1.615PPG from Smith. Using 1.615PPG over the remaining 8 games.

Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th

Since the appointment of Dean Smith with Grealish fit the new projected points total would be 75 points after 46 games. That includes our 57 points now and projecting the current 2.23 PPG (P13 W9 D2 L2 Pts 29) from Smith with Grealish fit over the remaining 8 games.

Some people thinks we’re potentially 4 points to 6th if other teams play there games in hand. Actually that would be true just for 5th place. Worst case scenario is Derby and Bristol winning all (or Boro winning). But all of that would mean Derby are 6th and two points between us and them. Actual if they all win and Boro draw we will be 2 points from all 3 of them.

I agree with TRO that all we can do is keep winning from here on in to give ourselves the best chance. However, one of Bristol City's games in hand is away at Middlesbrough on Tuesday 2nd April, so they can't both get 3 points from that game. Let's hope for a draw in that one though, eh? 🙏

Imagine if Leeds fail to go up after lording it all season lol!

It would be hilarious for many reasons.

The couple of fans arriving on here giving it big a few months ago, Their manager using sneaky spy tactics most of the season and the fact they have been in the top 2 for most of the season.

It would be great to see them walk away with bugger all except another season in the championship.

Something tells me if they failed to get promoted this season Biesla may also leave..   😆

We just need to keep winning.

nothing more nothing less.

others will drop points.

Absolutely this TRO.

If we focus on us and just keep collecting maximum points where possible I think the rest will take care of itself.

Yep.

We need to forget about everyone else and keep winning.

11 wins and we’ll be in the Premier League 😉

6th as well. Boro cling on to 5th. Norwich and Sheff Utd automatic.

Well thanks for explaining that in a simple easy to follow way. Tune into next week's episode of Soap.

Warming up to the prospect of facing Baggies in the playoffs. We can take them over 2 legs. The game at the Hawthorns was a good indication that we can beat them in our current form.

After all these years of talking shit because they've been finishing midtable in the PL a couple of times, would be nice to shut their small time yo-yo asses up once and for all. That and I really don't want to face Leeds and Bielsa. Gotta go for 5th.

A few teams have "faced Bielsa" recently and done OK. Don't see why we should shit our pants if we have to.

Boro and Bristol are in shit form. I can see Villa and one from Wednesday / Forest / Derby / Preston getting in.

So Boro finish 7th with 76 points, even though they are currently on pace to finish with 72 and are in horrible form?   And one of Derby, Bristol, Wednesday or Preston finishes with more than 76 even though none are currently on pace to finish above 70?   Derby and Bristol would have to have a complete turnaround in form, Preston would have to keep their current run going for another 8 games or Wednesday would have to step up another level.   And several of them play each other.   I think 75 points and probably fewer will be enough for a playoff spot.

Most teams up their game agianst us because of our name, playing like it's a cup final.

We got dominated at Villa Park against them, even when they were 2-0 down their moral didn't drop and kept attacking us for the entire game. Their high pressing and energy is not fun to play against.
