If's and But's (updated)

Well so far it's not going well... but the weekend results could still go our way... we then have two games in a week to change it even further.

Sheff Wed's lose midweek - draw, Wednesday still only on 48 points ✅

Derby lose midweek - win ❎

Forest and Hull draw on Saturday

Derby and Sheff Wed's draw on Saturday

Leeds beat Bristol on Saturday

We beat Blues

Suddenly the league looks like this and we suddenly look to be in a very promising position.

7 - Derby - 55 points

6 - Bristol - 54 points

8 - Villa - 51 points

9 - Forest - 51 points

10 - Hull - 51 points

11 - Blues - 50 points

Although Bristol city would still have a game in hand at that point.

We stil have a chance if you need 70-71 points to make 6th.

It's not beyond this squad's capabilities if we keep everyone fit to pick up another 20 points between now and Leeds away. We usually beat Norwich at home and they could well be up by then anyway.

If the par is still 74-75 points that is beyond us.

Not getting excited again until we take 4 points from our next two. Then we would have a proper chance.

If we get to those last two games in with a shout...that means we'll be been in great form. We've all seen us firing under Smith and it's outrageously good. I think we'd take at least 4 points from those last two if we reach them and are in touch.

Yeah lets not get excited till we've won 2 of the next 3 (ish). Even then we'd need to win at least 5 more at least of the last 8. It's gone I think realistically. The important thing now though is to get as close as possible and try and get the "job's too big" crowd shut up before the summer with some more performances like the last one...

Bristol and Derby dropping points are the most important results that we needed right now, regardless of being caught up by more teams from below.

I’m happy Boro lost as well. They have a tough run of fixtured coming up so this was a game they needed to win to have some safety. They’re still 4 points clear, but that could change faster than they think

Listened to West Brom on WM, no exaggeration to see Ipswich should've beaten them 4-1. This is a team in 4th. Boro lost at home to Brentford. This is a team in 5th. Derby have won once in about 10 games. This is the team in 6th.

This is easily the weakest standard of top teams since we've been down here. Last season you had Fulham in amazing form and we weren't too bad ourselves given we nearly got 90 points. Way off that standard this season generally and we have missed a trick unless we go on a big winning run from now on.
