My son kindly left a glass of this out for Santa last night.

Tried this for the first time at a whiskey festival last month, got to try it side by side with green spot and red breast and this would be my pick of the bunch, keep meaning to buy a bottle.

I've been gifted some Zalto wine glasses, had my eye on them for ages but hadn't taken the plunge, haven't really got anything in to justify drinking from them, but I'm on some Malbec to try them out. On to the whiskey after dinner!

It's my favourite of those 3. I'm keen to  try the gold spot at some time too.

Treating myself to a dram of Cu Bocan 88. Only my second glass since I bought it nearly a year ago, always feels like it needs an occasion. Mild smokiness, oak, loads of fruit. Great stuff.

Had you tried it before you bought it? I've bought fairly expensive whiskies before but never been brave enough to buy an expensive one without tasting it. Guess I need to go to more tastings.

I'd just tried it at a tasting and bought it on the night, I could never take the chance on that blind.
I try to go to one every month, the upside is trying 6 whiskeys, almost always new to me, the downside is I end up making purchasing decisions when I'm a bit wobbly. The one I go to is brilliant, after the 6 samples, the regulars stick around for a chat and finish off the bottles

Was on jeffersons rum, nice drop, not the rum connoisseur that I once was so ill be wrong here...to me straight away it tasted like a demerara sugar rum which isn't mu rum of choice, I like them lighter but given what it is its definitley a good one

Then we opened up Appleton estate 8 year old, that's a great rum, spiced but not killed with any particular flavour, hint of vanilla without being a vanilla rum, very very good

Started on the Camden hells which went down a little too easy paired with barely eating all day (proper spread on the way) now I'm on to a veltins gravensteiner which is pretty damn good considering normal veltins is absolute piss water

I'm a man on a mission tonight

Camden Hells goes down too easy anytime, it's bloody lush.

I've opened a bottle of Malbec, which I'll tuck into while cooking.

Then I will join the missus and have a couple of Pornstar Martinis probably followed by either a Dark n Stormy or a Tommy Margherita, depending which I fancy.
